With the extra heat coming from the H9’s, does one need to worry about TOO much heat melting anything/deforming?

Take pics please. I just ordered the same thing. I want to see your mods to the adapters.

Nope. Keep in mind the stock high beam uses the exact same bulbs.

I guess that makes sense. I just don’t have high beams on all the time. I live in Idaho and drive way up North and my headlights can be on for 3 hours plus so just wanted to check.

sorry, it was a 10min ordeal.

mods to the adapters were simple, used exacto knife to trim the center out of the male end that goes into the H9 and cut off one of the locking hooks on the female end that locks into the H11 male.

then made sure that the polarity was correct before install. In this case the red factory wire went to the adapter black and factory black went to adapter red. My OCD was NOT ok with this so I will eventually pull the adapters and switch the wires around.

Awesome! Thanks. I get the OCD part...wonder if all adapters are set up equally.

    How does the H9 perform?

sadly I have not driven at night yet.

but against the garage wall, the intensity is higher when I compared H9 on the driver and H11 on the passenger.

Where I noticed the increased brightness of H9’s the most was on buildings at 100-200 yards. The cutoff is clearly visible. Almost laughingly so. I was blown away by the increase in intensity. Not surprising given that they’re nearly twice as bright (literally).

With the cutoff are you saying the stock headlamps need to be adjusted up...or?

changing the bulb won’t affect your headlight aiming. If you do not blind others with the h11 you will keep not blinding with the h9 unless your headlights are to high..

Nice! I just put some in swapped out Morimoto LED's in favor of Hikari Ultras because of crashnburn's detailed data here. To be honest to my untrained eye I haven't noticed a significant difference yet.

The Hikaris focus far better than Morimoto with much higher intensity hot spot. You’ll likely notice if you get out of urban light and onto some dark roads at speed where the distance projection difference should stand out.

First night drive with the H9’s and G4’s and all I can say is WOW!

Here is a crappy iPhone pic of the garage door, I cannot believe how far out to the sides the G4’s throw light!

No. I notice the cut off on buildings ahead when going over humps or dips in the road.

I just bought the latest and greatest GTR ultra 2 led upgrades on headlight revolutions recommendation. They started a 400% upgrade over stock. They are probably the best H11 LEDs. They are bright, but not $200 bright. I ended up using my innovited H11 55w hid kit ($60) is just as bright, but throws farther down the road. The LEDs work great in the high beam location. I'm waiting for my morimoto ignitors to show up, then I'll compare the morimotos ($150) to Innovited to see which is brighter, faster start up, ect. So far the Innovited is the best bang for the buck, and reliable. Have owned this set for over 2 years with no issues.

This is not necessarily true. H9s that havent had the tips dipped will create lots of glare.
