@Norilsk how much did it cost you to drive one-way to the Western part of Canada back when you made that trek somewhat regularly? I’m trying to come up with a super rough number, considering I do not have the hyper-mile worthy minivan motor.

I'm seriously looking at going.... just have to make sure I can take a couple of days off...

Told myself if I get the Winch installed before the cutoff date , and a couple odds and ends done and I'm signing up. :)

When I was in Princess Auto this afternoon I saw these on special for $99 so I picked em up... China Maxtrax to go with the Winch!

Crap forgot to get a heater... lol

Around $500 one way to Edmonton, with your 2nd gen mileages - it'll be around $650, if you plan on taking the T4R... well, hopefully gas stations are available within 200km lol :crapstorm:

Another thing to remember, not all gas stations have CC readers along HWY 1 and most close for the night. Take US route if you can.

Awesome, thanks! Def inquiring for the 2nd gen.
As for the 4Runner, once I got roughly 275km to the tank....aided only by ignorance as the needle read on the +side of 1/2 until the low fuel light came on. Then, mad scramble to find an open station before she slurped the last 6 litres at a rate of 20L/100km.. Fun times.

I agree. Video works much better but I still like.

You need to get rid of those tractor trailer mud flaps. You can do better. I know you can.

Yeah I watched the video of Ray's Place snow tour on youtube. Looks pretty safe.

Just need a reason to get my lazy butt out there and get the winch installed.

Nope I never do things, I know I can't do....

I just do things I probably should not have done...

Ugh, I'll nominate my Acapulco trip...met a brother sister combo on a beach, hopped in their Yugo to a motel up in the hills to smoke some pot. Incredibly it worked out ok but, it so very well could not have.

Put the 14" dish heater to use today - installed StopTech SS braided rear brake lines P/N 950.47507 in the Subie. Also flushed the brake fluid with leftover Toyota DOT3, and serviced the rear calipers and parking brake:

Subframe rust might become an issue in a few years...

So I really hate my Dorkel... like a lot, I got new fender on order and will be taking it off after this winter is over.
After few bottles of fermented murphys, it got me thinking, fender vents!

Let's hear what a wide pool of gents (do we have ladies here now too?!) thinks about this idea?
    Ready? Shoot!

no, from the fender. Imagine tube running from the original intake hole into the fender with a cut vent in it.

I think fender vents would look great on the truck. Need to see which one would look best.
