    The advertisements always say that satellite radio only works in the lower 48 states...

    I am wondering that if I were to cross the Canadian border in my dad's GMC Yukon, which has satellite radio, if the reception would automatic cut out as soon as I drove into Canada...?

    Have your heard that song? My dad introduced me to The Clash in about 2005 or 2006; We were listening to the CD in the car and I'm like "Dad, did he just say what I think he said?!?!"

    2nd edit: its actually third :rolleyes:

    Maybe it works okay if you’re on the US border.

    The ‘04 Tacoma I drove yesterday actually had decent speakers; The factory head unit had long been replaced with a JVC double-DIN hess unit, as seen in the photos...

    I am 99% sure my friend’s ex DID NOT replace the speakers, which is why I’m amazed they sound so good compared to the factory non-JBL speakers I’ve heard in 2nd Gens. The red ‘04 I drove has the two woofers and tweeters in the front, and I believe 6x9s in the back.

    @Taco critter

    You and Kelly were less than thrilled with the judges at Carlisle earlier this year, right? You'll remember that this year I found out that I got points deducted because my bed had scratches in it (it's a daily driven 10-year old pickup truck with over 100K miles; WTF did you expect?). Last year, I didn't win anything and that shitty 1993 Nissan Hardbody pickup won for some reason. In 2017, I believe I should have gotten 2nd place and not that Saab 9-7X. I don't think I will be getting my truck judged at the 2020 show.

    I might not even bother...

    I was bit incensed that they expected a 10-year old daily driver to be showroom fresh.

    I believe I spend six or seven bucks a month for a subscription to Disney Plus; It's turning out to be the best six or seven bucks I've ever spent! It did not occur to me until yesterday that Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was a Disney production, along with the two sequels. The first movie was released just three months after I was born, so of course I didn't see it in theaters. I believe I saw it for the very first time in 1993 or 1994. When we lived in California from 1996 to 1998, my aunt and uncle had it on VHS, and that always one of my favorite movies to watch when I went over to visit. I watched all three movies today (Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Honey, I Blew Up The Kids, and Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves) and the first two still haven't lost their appeal; The original is by far the best. The second one, featuring 2-year old Adam Szalinski growing to over 100 feet tall and toddling around Las Vegas, only has a 40% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes but I still like it.

    The third installment, like most direct-to-video Disney sequels, is lackluster; The first two were theatrical releases. The only thing that makes Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves worth sitting through is the fact that Rick Moranis reprises his role as Wayne Szalinski; None of the other original actors and actresses appear in the movie, and lovable family dog Quark does not appear either. The Szalinski family van from the second movie, a 1991 GMC Safari that runs on solar power, does reappear in the third movie.

    Wayne Szalinski's 1991 GMC Safari as it appears in Honey, I Blew Up The Kid.

    [IMG]

    Wayne was driving a 1959 Volvo in the first film (which took place in 1989), so as you can see he's made quite an upgrade in three years; My guess would be that he sold the Volvo, paid cash for the van, and promptly converted it to solar/electric power (it actually retains it's factory 4.3L V6 and the solar equipment is just for show); The producers even added current-for-the-early-nineties Nevada plates!
