It pretty light. The lighter you go the more expensive it is. My tent was 100 bucks. Just a small 1 person. Maybe weighs 2 pounds tops. Sleepingbag was like 120. The stuff that kills the bank is the cooking stuff like burners. I'm still working on getting that stuff. One nighters are fun because it's less hassle than a two-four day.

It's a cool feeling passing up all the day hikers with full packs. Lol.

 

Nice. That's why I asked about the light gear, cuz it's freakin pricey! I checked into some gear this past spring so I could start this summer but it was super pricey. I saw burners at $200-$300 and some pricey filtration systems as well. You going with Paul? That seems to be one of his fav past times

 

No. With three other friends. They are all older.

 

i called camburg about it right after the install and he was saying it was because the bearings were not packed properly..i told him the hub was never disassembled...so idk

 

We did mine right. I doubt all of us could have done it wrong. I can live with it. But of course if I had a choice I would like it to go away.

 

is this like a coming out session for spindle lift problems?

 

I just heard about this issue last week when a guy asked me how I handle the vibes. I said "what vibes?" He had an 09 with no coilovers & 4" block lift in the rear. He took out the ones in the front thinking it might help but it didn't. He didn't know what brand he was using so that doesn't help dial it in.

I've had mine over 105 MPH & it's rock solid!

 

So strange....

On mine I have about 1.25'' of thread showing on my coilovers with no problems

On my brothers about 2'' of thread showing on his coilovers with no problems.

He did however try adding a 1'' block in addition to his Deaver 12 pack and he immediately had the vibes. We took the block out and the problem was gone again. It must have something to do with the angle of the shaft.

 

Yeah you may have done it right, but those two clowns you were with that night didn't have a clue!!!










That vibration gets drowned out when you are going through whoops!!!

 

Last time I let Paul touch my truck. Really learned my lesson. Sike!

My guess is the driveshaft. Those things can be sensitive. I had a small ding in my driveshaft of my 03 ram work truck. It vibed like crazy. It don't bother me enough to buy a new one if that is the case.

 

If it is there are plenty of drive line shops around that can re-tube and re-balance. I hate to say this but it could be something as crazy as the length of components and the frequency of the rotation of the wheels and slight imbalance of the tires in the dynamic state.

Think dynamics! You won't necessary get a solution but you may understand it better. When I worked at a proving ground, we would test different physical configurations and measure everything in a dynamic state. You would be surprised how harmonics set up in the silliest things. I would almost suggest to slightly change your toe (ever so slightly) and check. Maybe in increments of 1/8th of a turn on the tie rods. Just a thought for you guys.

 

Thanks Paul. Honestly Im too lazy right now to worry about it. It's like vibes for a couple mph and thats all. I want rear LT : ) so I'm not going to bother right now.

also curious who has which uca's with their setups...could it be the tc uca's and the camburg spindles do not like each other very much being from different companies? lol that was sort of a joke but also a serious question..

Not that I really want to do this but... If you want to swap UCAs for a month, let me know - that way we could see. It could make sense. TC and Camburg are people that have engineers and race these things so, I could see slight differences that could make the difference between 'fun' and 'fun and smooth'...
