You guys are ok with mediocrity if your think the Gen3 is awesome. I don't care what you say about me. When 1.x cc can motor up a mountain in 6th gear, but the Tacoma needs 3&4 gear dance at 3-5k rpms!? You are drinking the fkn koolaid! Fook Off! I love Toyota, but c'mon Man!

Your review really didn't cover the core concerns here on there third gen subforum. Can you please address the following serious issues?:

    1. Entry into the 2016-2019 Tacoma apparently cannot be achieved without destroying your shins. Have they addressed this worrisome problem?

    2. The HVAC system has been known to dry out eyeballs. Can you report on what steps they have taken in the 2020 to give owners more ocular comfort?

    3. There is chrome around the side view mirror control knob and the glovebox lock....along with the interior door pulls - and the third gen subforum is having a collective panty wedge over it. Have they done something to address the distracting and infuriating tiny chrome bits in the interior?

True. When i first got the truck I had some issues, but it seemed to work better over time. Only time I experience frustration now is going up skiing, but it likes to go between 3rd and 4th for the steeper hills. Usuall just lock it in 3rd and call it a day

Guess I won the Pro lottery. Driving through the hilly mountains of SE Oklahoma, shifted just fine. Better than my old '13 Sport, even.

Ask him to flash back to the 2017 software. It’s the best yet, as confirmed by Mike Sweers.

That’s because you own a 2017. The last great Tacoma.

Lame thread. My 2019 DCLB-OR shifts just fine and if you're hating the 2020, which is flipping identical, the new Ridgeline has an 8-speed with paddle shifters. Knock yourself out.
