I'm no expert but I think the resonator needs to be in tandem with the tailpipe, and capped off.

When I had that custom exhaust on my Tundra, the muffler replaced the OEM but because it was smaller and shorter the system came with a longer pipe welded on. Then it just reused the rest of the tailpipe assembly.

Then, after the pipe went over the axle you were required to drill a 2.5" hole into the pipe. Then add a saddle joint, with rtv and U bolts. The resonator was just a section of straight pipe that was capped.

The design is apparently copied from other sound reducing applications.

I think I remember you talking about that in the past and it’s certainly a neat design. Some are meant to go inline though like this. Like mentioned it’s definitely helped and quieted it down a good bit, just not quite enough for my liking.

Put a silencer on the tail pipe.

I'd love to give it a try. I do agree though, after a while any drone at lower frequencies will definitely cause a migraine.

I think I could put up with it though, but only because I use to ride Harley's with straight pipes. They were 120 + decibels. :lalala:

Very nice! Wish it was warm enough here for some garage time. I have no idea what the temp is currently, but it was painful just running from the Tahoe to the house when we just got back from a movie (took the kiddos to see frozen 2.)

It was warm enough out to mow the lawn and rake some leaves! Probably hit 70° today.

He gave it back to me because it was too loud lol I decided I’ll give it until after fpk to make a decision, and also sound deaden. Been driving it more today and it seems quieter already, or maybe I’m more used to it.

@Superman910 Eric, quoted you over in the NE Tacomaworld Express thread Brother.

I'll be in Gambrils at Loony Bin BBQ this Saturday. We could meet up there.

So I went out last night to test all my lights and see their output. First up, only the S1's with amber wide cornering.

40" S8 clear spot. Look at that hood glare! Gotta do something about that, because otherwise this lightbar is fucking useless.

A little before and after my solution

My solution, which was just to move the crossbar back.

It's funny. I have a deflector with no cutout so I have had my 40" s8 in your new spot since I got it. I could never figure out why people were so frustrated by hood glare. Now I know why.

I flipped the switch on last night and it's like I kicked on my light up hood, it was insane. Why not cut your existing cutout to get more useable light? That's all I did with mine, add my own cutout.

Never had the need to, I guess. I suppose it would add a little more downward light, but it works just fine as is and little hood glare.
