I used the 3m tape that was on them. It is holding up well. I cleaned the area with wax remover put some tape lines down to make sure they were straight and applied.20191012_111914.jpg

Yeah but I have read that it doesn’t work very good because of the lack of sticking points on the badge itself...

Didn’t epoxy the back or anything?

No. Epoxy would require scuffing the paint to stick. It doesn't stick well to smooth surfaces. Also if you every did need to be removed it would really tough. The double sided tape is at least serviceable if needed.

It’s actually a TRD Off-road badge. My OR has everything a limited and a Pro has. This isn’t about making it look like a pro. I like the badges. And unlike most people, I can give two craps what other people think. If I wanted a Pro I would have bought one.

I ask you to read my posting again. Pro style, not pro badge. No cat back, no FOX suspension, no skid, different grille, no fogs, no smart key, no auto dimming mirror, no homelink... am I forgetting anything else?

Ok dude. Not sure what your deal is but whatever! Enjoy you truck! I was simply asking for advice. No need to turn sideways bro. Maybe read my post again? Where I was asking for advice? Not for your opinion on what I like. Have a good night!

Lol I love you elitist Taco owners. Crack me up. This is my 4th Toyota Pickup. But to each their own man. You are so bad because you bought a Pro! I had no use for Fox suspension. Mine does have fogs, does have a smart key, does have a self dimming mirror, a skid plate, predator rails, black tailpipe and lettering, moon roof, leather seats, etc. lol you realize that they do make different ORs, right?! But it’s cool, you seem like you know all!

I stand corrected on the fogs and skid. I forgot about those :) Seriously though, enjoy the badges. I never said I didn't like them.

Likely didn't pay $10k more, but to each his own. I'm out, man!

All good man. I owned a Pro before, nice trucks. Just didn’t want the suspension. Again no need for me.

If you intend to replace suspension, OR all day. Otherwise, I've had too many issues with aftermarket suspensions to want to deal with it except on a track car where I expect bits and pieces to constantly fail.

Looks like it should be Paul Walker's Baja 1000 rig. Love the shadows that glow casts though.

Nope. I receive my badges. Seem like great quality, but I have yet to use them on my truck.

I took all the OEm badges off, and I like the no-badge look

It was not a good idea. The epoxy added too much weight to the badges, which meant you needed even stronger adhesive to keep it on the truck. I scrapped the idea after and got another set.

The second set I put on, I removed their backing and put on some strips of 3M double sided tape. Had no problems and it's holding up like a champ.

Edit: Only complaint, I didn't cut the strips to cover the entire backing. So when I wash my truck sometimes water sticks around under the badge and drips out after I dry the truck. Minor issue, but if you want to avoid it, take the extra time and cut to fit with some scissors.

If you use alcohol on the truck to strip the wax it's not harmful. I would highly recommend you do so before putting on any badges actually. So the tape sticks to the trucks clear coat and not the wax. Detailers do it all the time when they prep a surface to rewax a vehicle. After you put the new badge on just go over the area around it with a couple passes of wax to make sure the rest of the area is re-covered and you're good to go.

Damn these badges look stupid. These and the raptor lights. Like adding a hemi badge to a v6. Like adding a pro badge to a non pro, oh wait that's what you guys are doing.

Even if the wording is different, you are ripping off the pro model. Tacky at best.
