Those rod bearings look pretty good. My 3RZ rod bearings were similar looking but the mains were toast

:spy: Talk to Tim and see if he still has his Diamond axle housing. But I don't know if his housing is a 8.4 or 8 and what the WMS is on it. I did see he put a stock housing on his truck and pulled off the diamond. I would offer mine up but i'm a 8.4 and no clue when I'm chopping the rear to give it to ya.

Looks good Brett, the wheel tray type is the way to go, with that frame geometry and being that 27.5 & 29s are getting a bit heavier. You get clearance and longevity at the same time.

Thanks Ray. Tim already sold his Diamond, but I may call them up and price out a few different options. Would be sweet to find something that worked 2nd hand though.

Still no clue where the metal was coming from. :notsure: Main bearings look fine.

    Probably.

But my reasonably priced used engine is running great, and doesn't have a bunch of shiny bits in the oil.

Did notice some scribbles on one of the con rods though. Anyone know if they did this in the factory?

ive run my CFX-50 on a 27F AGM for several days in my single battery setup. No snake oil voltage booster. Original alternator & wiring. Before I put the battery in, I verified the voltage coming out of the alternator is in the range of the battery manufacturer (Northstar).

    I'm going to.

Which one of you front rangers wants to investigate these for me?

Meanwhile, I'm waiting to see if anything pops up closer, but I doubt it. Not going to be able to make it down there for a little while now.

I really only need to make sure it's a full float/disc brake axle, and not a rusty POS.

I really just need to find some time one of these weekends to pick one up - and if I do, maybe a driveway to pull the 3rd out so I can get it to Brian the same trip.

If you run out of time and can't get it to Brian. I can take it to him when ever. Just an extra option. You have my number. Feel free to text.
