Yes, they are all indoors. Right now we have 7 in the basement (3 rooms), 4 in the master bedroom, one in the guest bathroom, and 6 (all ours) running the rest of the house. Because there are different litters and some are / were sick, we don't let them all mix - but we have a couple of our own that interact well with the fosters. We keep them until they are fixed and able to go to the adoption center (Petsmart). If they're not adopted after a month we bring them home and switch in others for a month.

A couple of the ones we kept were not adoptable (skittish / not sociable) and we kept one that was missing and eye and hearing impaired. Our most recent addition is an adorable 3 legged Himalayan looking kitten (I wanted him when his adoption fell through). He was born with a dwarf leg that was amputated, and I just fell in love with him.

Fostering is fun and hugely rewarding - within limits (we're past that limit). It's the best feeling when one goes to their forever home, but it's work and can quickly overtake your life if you're not careful. If you do it, set a limit of how many you want at one time and stick to it. We started with a momma and 4 kittens, and went up from there. I'd like to get to single digits in total, but I don't see that happening any time soon....

Wow, that’s incredible. I know how much time and energy we spend on ours and I don’t know how you do it. Again, much admiration and appreciation for what you do.

And we're back home after 7 days away from the cats...they are going nuts. Mai Thai won't stop howling (yes, he does this 'cat howl' thing that sounds like he's gargling marbles) and Harley won't stop talking and is glued to us on the couch lol
