Simple answer: take her wheeling, get your stock bumper smashed on rock, justify new plate bumpers and rock sliders

Have you ever come close to hitting your rocker panels?

If yes, then sliders can be great insurance and useful tools.

If no, then you'll be fine without them.

I just chuckle and shake my head when threads like this come up. Going to show the wife this thread and say "see....you're being a ...."

    Some married couples:

    1) Have a joint bank account.
    2) Others need three bank accounts. One for together bills, two other accounts for your personal spending.
    3) Then there are those that just have separate ones all together.

OP, I would seriously consider option 2 or 3.

Play the safety card...”yes dear it is true we don’t need everything, but these are designed to make the truck stronger along the side, where you sit, and your safety is very important to me, so while we can’t afford to waste our money on some of the really cool stuff you know I’d love to buy, we can spend some on safety”

She says you don’t need them...who cares? If you have a job and make enough money to pay the bills and afford a couple nice things here and there when you want them just buy some sliders.

    Still stock completely capable!
My argument was sliders are cheaper than fixing door dings.

Then he shouldn't be looking at sliders, but maybe for a job.
