What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thanks Casper, everyone is fine. My pride is a little hurt, I'll need a new door, driver's tail light and I'll hammer out the small dent in the front fender. Cosmetic damage only, as I had drove an hour home after that and the truck drove great and tracked straight. Luckily, neither my wife or I were hurt, but she did fall on top of me when she unbuckled though!

 

It's good the damage wasn't that bad. Hopefully the wife unit is still down for wheeling. Mine is afraid of the stuff I do and I haven't flipped lol

 

As long as your good they make trucks everyday

 

Shit'll buff out... Still pondering on how I broke my vent visor, but my mirror is still intact?

 

Ouch! Yep better off to just replace the door it’s not a hard just heat a door, have it painted, and swap the parts fro the old to the new

 

Think sliders would have saved you at all?

 

We discussed that, I don't think sliders would have prevented the roll over. It might have minimized the damage to my driver's side rocker panel though. I have skids and sliders on my 3rd gen, but I didn't drive that truck today, thankfully. This truck has over 300K miles on it and has been my hunting/fishing/play truck for the last few years now.

 

This happened to my buddy @Brian422, just a little while before I rolled mine today.

 

I agree. I don't think sliders would have prevented the damage, maybe just reduced its size. Who knows, it might have amplified the flip like a pole vault.

Ah, ya if I had another truck I wouldnt be as worried as well, i was just thinking maybe the sliders would have stuck out enough to prevent that

I think if I had sliders on, it would have acted like a fulcrum and I would have rolled over onto the top side of my truck. I'm amazed that none of my glass was busted out. I rolled my '91 when I was a teenager and crushed the whole driver side, fenders, doors, bedside and every window was busted out. I'd say I walked away pretty good, with only cosmetic damage, considering what happened.

 

Get them. They saved my friend's doors when we offroaded last weekend at Big John. They are worth their weight in gold, if you ever land on them!

 

No need to justify. Mine and many others have done their job.

That's what I was thinking with your position. You're lucky you didn't have sliders lol. Probably the only time I would say that.

 

I almost drove my 3rd gen this morning, but I wouldn't have taken it down blue or red trails. I have a little more balls in my my 2nd gen though! lol
