While I hear you, the overall engine failures are pretty low on them. We have transits not F150's but same concept.. same engines though non are V8 all are V6.. over all we have had very few issues with our fleet. The only issue I can remember in our region (Only region I can speak of) is a fuel pump went out on my personal transit. So far no engine issues.

I would still buy a 2.7L Twin Turbo over the V8, though Fords V8 Coyote engine is legendary reliable.

I would pay an thousands extra to have Ford’s twin turbo 2.7L V6 in my Taco. That would make the thing into something truly worthy of the moniker “Racing Development”. That said, I like my Tacoma and how it drives, but it admittedly falls short of my Ford for pedal feel, smoothness, and economy.

Camry looks better than Accord imo. Only Honda I'll buy is the lawnmower.

Looks are not one of my priorities in buying a vehicle.
But Honda styling has been particularly...uninspired.
    Across the board.

Though at least the Ridgeline and Odyssey have gotten rather less ugly over the last few years.

The only reason I would pick the Accord is the MT.

If the Big 3 plus Nissan can get decent MPGs with V8s, why can't Toyota?

Proof that some people will buy a manual just because manual. At the end of the day it's a basic sedan not an M3 or M5. The Accord is the Bob from accounting car where he can zone the fuck out listening to NPR as he contemplates putting a gun in his mouth on the drive back home.

I’m actively part of those forums. It’s literally a few pages. Unlike the thousands on here. Also that article is quoting a Ford Enginer who is retired and is active on the Ranger forum cause he has one.

Well there are certainly more tacos out there than rangers , so of course the complaints would be more right ?

very true. But it’s been out for about a year and it’s 10 pages long. No doubt there’s an issue but alarm worthy?? I’d still give it some time.

I do wonder what the demographics are compared to tacoma owners vs. ranger owners, because the Ranger forums have always kind of sucked

Before the new and glamorous Ranger was shat out, I posted links to threads on various gm and ford forums upon wherein these issues with the 10 speed joint effort tranny had been discussed ad nauseum.

Is it alarm worthy? Well, that answer can be found by looking at the model forums that have the same tranny and have reported the same issues.
