Good Idea, Awful Execution! Please update!



by SouthernGypsy I live in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas, in the middle of a region covered in Trails. Yet even at the 100 mile range setting it finds nothing. When I go to the next setting I get a total of 4 trails titled; test, test, poop, and work. Test #1 is a 3 foot trail in someones back yard, Test #2 appears to be a 2 mile drive straight down an interstate, poop seems to be someones 60 yard path they made while walking their dog along a local residential street in the suburbs, and work is apparently someones 2 mile drive from their house to their work one morning down a major city street. What makes it even sadder is that it took it forever, even on a high speed WiFi connection to come up even with those.

Come on people, it's slow and cumbersome just to find trails that then turn out to be junk and "tests".

The app itself needs to be made faster, easier to search, and a better layout. Then the trails needs the ability to have users a) enter ratings for valid trails, and b) the ability to report junk trails as being junk. An additional hint would be to have the database automatically reject any trail that's submitted using the name "test".

Right now it seems this app is more interested advertising whatever model of SUV it is that Toyotas trying to advertise. They spent too much time on that rather than doing what it professes to do. If they make the program do what it says it does in a nicer, more efficient and easy to use manner they would actually help garner good will toward all of their 4x4 models because the trails part of the program is a great concept - just poor, but not un-fixable, implementation

Yeah, seems that the default trail database is either empty or minimal and any additions will have to be made by the apps users which will obviously be interesting and possibly useless such as the reviewers mentioned "test" and "poop."

 

There was another app I found called "where you ride at", but it's $2 and is very basic. I'd expect more if it was to cost $2, and it's more geared to ATV

 

Never worked for me.
