did the limited tacoma still get that set up starting in 1998?

 

I used to do audio for production events

Plays, lectures, bodybuilding competitions, movie screenings.... Fun job but shit pay and shit hours. Got to play with a lot of really, really nice equipment though

 

Is that a spare tire lock?

 

I've seen that mentioned in another thread somewhere; theft deterrent.

You could just remove the whole setup since it's only held by 4 10mm bolts.

 

Dealers have the full set of locks

 

maybe that is one that requires special anti theft key??

You have the spare lock...sux. remove it and life will be better.

 

The end piece on the crank handle kit? There is a 2002 double cab in a salvage yard near me that might have one.

I may scavenge some of the spare tire components (and other stuff) from that 2002 DC if I get to go back to that yard on Friday. If that yard was open on the weekend, I would have picked it clean already. I just discovered it the other day when I was off work and looking for something to do one afternoon.

 

You gotta slice up your headliner for it to fit. Should be 2 more bolt holes under there for stuff to mount to.

Also make sure you grab the stupid wire connector. I realised I didnt, as the door activated one has another pin that the regular one doesnt. Oh well, guess I know what Im doing tmrw after work

 

Have you dropped the headliner yet? I'm toying with the idea but don't want to break stuff.

 

Did you need to remove the A-pillar trim to get it out?

 

I have the same setup, or had I should say. lucky for me I never needed my spare back when it was locked up under the truck because I never had the key lol. Tire shop had to get it off with a skeleton key or something, took forever.

One connector, but the door switch one has 2 pins. The on/off maplight only has 1.

 

Well I'm screwed.. I found one of the JIS screws on the A-Piller handles has been nicely mangled. That's going to be a project to clean that up.
