Either the transmission issue is not THAT big of an issue, Toyota fixed it in the 2020, or it is one of those things that is not an issue till you look for it to be an issue and then it becomes an issue as I have never experienced it even once... this transmission works exactly like my F150 10 speed for shifting and performance.....

We keep hearing that they "fixed" it. but i'm not convinced. The MPG stayed the same and one person already rolled in here bitching about how it sucked like their 2016

All I can say, is if it is acting like other transmissions I have had (F150, Colorado, Silverado) in the last 10 years then ALL of them have the same issue or I do not have it at all.... beats me as I cannot really say as I have never had anything but a working transmission in the Tacoma to base it off on anything else.

LOL.....get over it. You weren't happy with your Taco and bought a Ford. Now you're on here bashing Toyota and praising a ford that probably has less than 5k miles on it.

I think it's pretty cool that a retired Ford Ranger engineer is active on a vehicle forum. I've seen his posts and he is very insightful in how the processes work and is very helpful.

But god, if a retired Tacoma engineer was active on this forum, he'd probably get eaten alive. Can you imagine the questions members would ask? "Why haven't you fixed the frame issues after 20 years?!?"

That's probably why there is none active on this forum.

I like the Ranger but it's not much of an upgrade over my 2010 Frontier Pro-4x with the 4.0L and 6spd. For my uses, Payload is the only significant attribute that would sway me towards the Ranger over a brand new Frontier. When I price both trucks out there's a $10,000 premium for the Ford, no way I'm going for that. Sure, it goes on sale but so does the Nissan.

A lot of engineers don't realize their mistakes until they're released into the wild. The fact that he's retired makes me wonder how deep in the loop he currently is.

I’ve been paying attention to what trucks I see lately while driving. In the midsize trucks it’s been 99% Toyota, all years. The other 1% has been Nissan or older ford rangers. Haven’t seen a single new ford ranger in two weeks.

Word of mouth is the best seller, right? :D

The Camry doors feel tight when you slam them like a Mercedes Benz from the golden period.

The Accord is much nicer than the Camry on the inside. Drives better, too. The Camry looks NASCAR.

I'd own one but the wife is spoiled by Lexus' service.

No idea, never drove either new model. We gave up on Honda though, so that won't happen.

All of the current lower end sedans look kinda sucky to me. The sedans I do like are too freaking expensive. Decided to keep my 4Runner.

I'm hoping my wife gets ànother Lexus sedan and not the RX. I have never owned an SUV. I'm that guy.
