:rolleyes:Here's the deal... I had a 2008 Tacoma (pics are on profile), sold it, bought a Tundra (dumb idea), now I'm going back to a Tacoma.

My question: I'm either going to buy the 2011 or wait for the 2012; besides a body change in 2012, does anyone know any rumors or have any spy pics or ANY kind of info on the 2012?

If I get the 2011 I'm getting the TRD Sport 4x4 double cab.. Basically like my 2008

I wouldn't hold your breath on a hybrid model either - it doesn't make sense...

Also, it won't come out until mid way through the year, so it'll probably be called a 2013 model year.

Part of the press release was that Toyota plans to reduce the number of model configs available. So if you want a reg cab 4x4, you might want to get it now.

Well I bought the first year 2nd gen Tacoma and I haven't had any of the problems these guys with the 09s - 11s are having. I personally think the 05s - 07s are the ones with no problems.

Thanks for all the feedback guys... I personally have never buyed a first year design of a vehicle, I've read to many horror stories (corvettes, mustangs, IPhone 4G's, etc... HAHA)

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the 2011... I did the new single bar in the grille.

2011 is definitely a safe bet. You're right that 1st year redesigns are the "beta" year. Then again the world is going to end in 2012 so might as well have fun now.

Nonsense. The world won't end until the year 2038. That's when all the signed longwords run out of bits to store the number of seconds since Jan 1, 1970.

I can promise you the 2012 Tacoma will not look like that (or 2013 if they wait). The picture on that site looks like a Concept of a Tundra. If you want to know what the Tacoma will look like, take a look at the 4runner. If you look at the past, 4runner models come out, a few years later, the Tacoma comes out looking pretty similar. Personally, I really like how the new 4runners look.

    read build thread
Id get a 2011 now, cause the first year model of a redesign will no doubt have many bugs n recalls n stuff to get ironed out.

I would wait till the 2012 or 2013 (whichever it's called) comes out. Then, if you like it it's available, if not you can pick up a late model or slightly used 2011 on the cheap. That's what I would do... if I could ever afford anything but a 5 year old model.
