So I'm new to tacomas. Anyways I recently bought a second gen and i noticed that my window was either getting stuck or would just stop about half way. I thought it was the regulator but now I'm noticing that it will work with the door open. I'm thinking it might be the guide. But has anyone with a second gen experienced this before?

Break in the wiring near the harness at the hinge area would be my guess

^This. Another possibility is that when the door gets blown open by a wind gust, it breaks the door check strap. When you close the door, it bends the window channel, causing a problem when the window gets about 1/2 way down.

Some people have successfully removed the channel and straightened it, but a new one isn’t real expensive.
