so i got the recall work done on my truck yesterday and i gotta say, i love it. you cant notive the gas pedal cut at all and that annoying high RPM shift from a slow roll is now gone.

but heres the interesting part. before i got the work done, while traveling at 70-75 mph, the trucks RPM's would be about 2500. now AFTER the work at 70-75 mph, the trucks RPM's are only 1800-2000. the truck drives exactly the same so idk whats going on with that, but i like how it will help save me some gas.

    thoughts anyone?

Not possible unless they regeared (to a taller gear) or you put larger tires on.

or your tranny was slipping constantly before.

Probably re-set the system that monitors your driving habits and adjusts for them. Give it a month, it'll probably change. ;-)

Calm down there, it's just the internet. Unless they re-geared I don't think your constant RPM's will be lower when on the highway. Did you notice these numbers on the same stretch of road, weather conditions? Is that better

Does anybody know if the reflash during the gas pedal recall includes the transmission lag fix???

Dunno then, at lower speeds I could guess it was causing the truck to shift up earlier. However at highway speeds I have no idea. You could alway try calling the dealership and asking them for a clarifacation on the work they did and ask if this seems normal. I beleive you are the first person to note highway RPM's lower after the TSB work.

that transmission lag at slow rolling has been really annoying to me lately. feels like the gear is slipping. i'l' be tuning in to get more info out of this.

Just got back from getting my gas pedal recall done. Don't like the look of the cut pedal. Thanks to Tacoma World for this part -> Complained to the service manager and got a new pedal on order. I also am not happy with the 'new' all weather mats they replaced my original driver and passenger side ones with. They are ALOT thinner and definitely will not hold a spill/liquid. Over all my truck seems to shift smoother and I do not notice any low speed lag or rev up when stopped with the a/c running anymore. My advice to anyone who wants to keep their all weather mats - remove them before going to get the recall done. Over all I would recommend everyone get the recall done. If you are not happy with the cut pedal, ask the service manager for a new one.
