In your pics you can see that the cradle and bag are offset to the centerline of the truck an equal amount. This offset is what I was talking about.

Mine have the cradle and bag aligned to be centered on the leaf and bump stop pad. Just a different alignment.

FWIW, not sure that it matters, but your "bracket strap" located under the leaf springs is upside down compared to the instruction diagram on page 2 here. :notsure:

    Instructions? :D

I put them on in a way that seemed logical. I never would have thought they would be installed 180. Good catch.

I installed mine that way on purpose. i get more thread protrusion with less bolt length. Yes, pressure on the bracket and lowest spring is reduced due to increased surface area by about 1/3, but I'm OK with that.

Would running daystar cradles under the airbags on an otherwise stock truck lift the rear end at all at 5psi? The specs say they’re 5/8” thick, so a 1/2” to 5/8” lift seems right. I’m planning on a set of 5100’s for my truck and airbags to help with hauling, but want the cradles so I don’t have to worry off road or when I get it worked on.

With Daystar's, I'm running at 16 PSI in the bags to keep them from bottoming out the stock leafs (5 PSI was too low). It's showing exactly 1" of lift including a bed mat and miminal bolt-on protection (sliders, hitch skid, and aluminum gas tank skid).

The 5 psi minimum is just to prevent the bags from pancaking but can't either lift or prevent bottoming out. With my cap and tool load Even 40-45 doesn't make it too stiff, there's a pretty wide margin that works. All I really want them to do is get the shock travel back to mid range instead of the bottom half. The truck handled really well with a full load of broken concrete and 65 psi.

So I need someone’s help. Can someone please measure their airbags fully inflated and fully deflated? I’m most likely going to have to go with a custom pieced together kit but I have quite a bit of lift in my rear and now that I’ve added a shell my rear sags a tiny enough bit it pisses me off. Once I put the rtt up there and gear I’m sure I’m gonna drop even more. I already have a custom leaf pack and want to add bags for when everything is there I sit level but can deflate to 5 psi when I’m not carrying anything.

Currently from the base of my bump stops to the bottom mount where the air bag mounts is 7 1/4” on both sides.

Unless you have @badger kit with bumpstops, my experience with stock springs is that you'll want to put more than 5 psi (more like 15 psi). Otherwise, you'll bottom out the airbags. Not sure how it will feel with aftermarket springs. :notsure: BTW, for a detailed build thread using an aftermarket leaf pack, go here (airbags start on page 4). I can get those measurements for you, but my situation (length of airbags) may be slightly different because I'm on stock springs and using Daystar cradles...

With Daystar's, I'm running at 16 PSI in the bags to keep them from bottoming out the stock leafs . It's showing exactly 1" of lift including a bed mat and minimal bolt-on protection (sliders, hitch skid, and aluminum gas tank skid).

thanks. I ended up finding what I was looking for on Firestone’s website. I just finished re reading through the entire thread for the third time hoping I missed someone that had a similar setup. I saw a few guys but none of them really went into detail of what they did and they have long since been inactive. So my guess is I’m frankenbuilding something Using a 7689, 7701 or trying to figure out how to put a 9000 air bag in. I’m opposed to building a kit but having something to reference off of would be ideal.

Does your existing lift include extended travel or just ground clearance? You can always put a spacer under the daystar cradle, but remember that you could be limiting the up travel of your suspension in case that matters to you.

Mine is extended travel and that’s actually what I’ll be doing is a 1 1/4” spacer under the daystar. Already ordered everything off Amazon and just waiting impatiently for it to come in.

Interesting, was that a custom job? Not worried about the mount bending without having a leg come down to pick up the axle tube? Earlier posts show the Firestone brackets bending if they're not supported at the axle.

Support plate for the Daystar is 3/8 thick and the flip plate is 1/2 inch.

At the point where the little Firestone brackets bend - these supports are about 6 inches wide and 3/8 thick. A centered load that would bend this would crush the axle.

So after waiting for the ups truck I get an Amazon refund and email saying my airbags were lost in transit. The daystars showed up but no bags. So luckily another member sold me his. Anything you all think I should go ahead and order with them. So the connections hold up for the air lines?
