I bought 4 of those last year!
Passed them out at our family Christmas party. It was a huge hit. Along with the Red Ryder BB guns we bought on close out last year for $9 each

Part of why I had interest in the weld vs bolt on is they were $150-200 cheaper, and I plan to keep my truck. Also that moderate fear if someone really wants something they can just take if off the truck..
Good point on the frame/warranty thing.
Bolt on would also make sense for if they actually get seriously damaged I could remove and replace them easier. Suppose it's something to look more into.

    Correction.
Weld on with step plate(dog and parent) $345
Bolt on with step plate $900
Weld it yourself bolt on $740

    +$80 for DOM steel.

Any idea why it's such a large price jump? Other companies I don't think have that large of a price jump.

I had my cbi sliders welded on by their shop in 2012. If you weld it correctly it's good for your frame. I noticed a big difference in stiffness from the sliders. Helped with corner roll without a front sway bar. Some short work with a wire wheel and spray paint will keep your frame rust free at the welds for years to come.

All that being said, only get sliders if you're gonna use them. (Door dings is only a plus imo) they're not worth the cost otherwise.

It's definitely cheaper to buy them. Here's the type of bender you would need in order to bend the type of tubing that would actually be strong enough to function as a rock slider.

It still seems like you're better off buying them. By the time you pay for the bender and material, you're already in for $400-500. Then you have to learn how to use it. It's probably a solid weekend or 2 by the time you get it right. Then you need a welder.

If you already have the tools and know how to use them, maybe it's worth doing.
