How many of us are going to buy the new supercharger? Looks like a 100HP gain. I saw the kit at SEMA and they said January but now there telling us it’s going to be March. Was suppose to be ready for beginning of 1st quarter. But some fool from Magnuson decided to put the week selling Gladiator in front of our Tacoma’s and finish that kit first. What a douch! I guarantee there going to sell more Superchargers to 3rd gen Tacoma owners than Jeep Gladiators. My 6500$ is waiting for March and I can’t wait to race Raptors and have almost 400np at the wheels. We have been asking each other on the forum if the 3rd gen motor can be boosted ? Well folks looks like we’re all in for so needed HP. And getting our wish..

Is this Magnuson trying to drum up sales? We've known it could be boosted for while now....

Not a chance. This engine begs for twin screws if your going to do forced induction. SC was fine on the 4.0 but I’ll take the OVTune twin screws long before Magnason SC kit. Just my opinion. Though I think you’ll find it’s a pretty common opinion amongst us 3rd Gen enthusiasts. Of course any boost is good boost, so there’s room for everyone.

If you already have OV tune you are at an advantage if you buy the OV SC kit. Others who havent made the choice are more open to who ever they want to buy a kit from.

    Lmao

I'd buy it if the price wasn't off the charts crazy.

As for twin screws sell your Tacoma and get an F150 Ecoboost.

Why? Looks like the tacoma will be putting out just as much power in a smaller, lighter platform...

If you turbo it you'll be turning a nice reliable truck into a project. Plus you will have spent enough money to have an xlt/lariat which would have more towing capacity, warranty, more headroom for tuning if that's your thing etc.

Are 2nd Gen trucks any less reliable when boosted? If I wanted a ford truck I would have bought one.

You should go look at the dyno charts he just posted and pay attention to the part where it shows full boost at 1400 rpms

What forced induction is anyone doing for 2k, outside of the guys buying 5.3's and tossing on Chinese turbos.

The engine already has power up top. I'll be going Magnuson for that linear low end grunt in addition to some high end boost. Yes turbos can make power on the low end too, but it's not as linear also Magnuson warranties their product. Competition is great, however, and I think OVTune will make a great turbo!
