I thought about getting those falken A/Ts for my 17 crosstrek limited but mine IS a daily commuter @ 120 miles per weekday. I don't want a lot of tire noise on the highway. I have enough of that in the Tacoma. Although I read somewhere these tires were designed with the crosstrek and rav4 platforms in mind.
    I love my crosstrek too!

Sold the Corolla back in July to the shop porter. Got the Subaru in September.
I think Doug can do matte. I'll have to ask him. If not, my daughter's friend opened his own wrap business and could wrap it in matte

These tires are seemingly quieter than the stock tires, which i believe were yokohamas

I have zero discrepencies with them at this point...

The only thing i guess i could say is they are a little heavier than the yokohamas, but i highly doubt it made a difference. I couldn’t notice a difference. But rotational mass is often the hardest change to feel....and its a crosstrek, no matter what, it will be slow.

Been tough to get these tires. Ordered Via Amazon as they showed in stock on the 19’th. Still haven’t shipped and has changed warehouse drop points twice now. I may be F’d.

I won't need them for a while. Yokos are still good for a while. Good luck

Those Yoko's weren't bad when they had tread. Quiet, good road manners, never ran them in the snow. I did get a sidewall tear on a dirt road once when I took my wife's rig fishing. I'm stoked that the Falkens are XL rated.

Got an unreal deal on a new set of shoes for the Tacoma, 83/tire, so it’s a family affair at Discount Tire this morning.

Initial impressions on the AT trails are that I cannot notice the added weight at all, even with the fact that her car is a 5-speed. They have good road manners on the pavement thus far. It’ll be fun to romp them on some dirt/gravel this spring...and since they’re an XL ply I’ll feel better about taking them on fishing trips, less fear of getting a flat.

Dude they look sexy as hell on there. Nice choice. Y'all are talking me into them even before I need them.

Can you do me a favor? Check the clearances all around and on the inside of the tires, fenders, strut, etc.
I can't find any available right now in the 225/55 size, but I can in the 225/60. They are same width. Just 9/10" taller. If they'll fit, I have no problem going an inch taller

Yah I’ll give it a once over for you once my wife is back from work.

FYI I read up on this exact thing and everywhere I’ve looked says it’s a non issue. Discount Tire also lists 225/60R17 as a “direct fit” for the Crosstrek. If you’re worried about it you could also go narrower, 215/60R17...but that’s just 4ply.
