Just started some porterhouse steaks from the last little bit of cow that is in our freezer. Not real happy with the quality of butchering of this years cow but I’ll take organic right off the farm any day. 49DA83F1-12C7-4594-A41B-C1E81E1AFAA9.jpg

Kinda hard to tell from here.. ;) Does the board light up? If not, 12v is not getting there. You really need to say what's happening.

I’d personally start at the fuse on the controller. I believe it should be an inline fuse if it’s like my Jim Bowie. There’s a circuit interruption happening somewhere and that’s the easiest place to check.

grill works perfectly fine plugged in to 120v outlet. I used it at my parents to cook a delicious Tritip tonight.

Is this the first time you’ve tried a 12v source?

the next step I would take is to plug it in to a known good 12v source such as your truck battery and if that doesn’t work I’d say call GMG.

Made some pork belly burnt ends for the game last night.

Also did bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers but I didn't get a picture of them. I found that giving them a dusting of unicorn rub before they hit the smoker is the secret ingredient! They were awesome.

120v goes to a converter, 12v plugs goes into that, right? I'd say for whatever reason the 12v wasn't getting 12v from whatever you plugged it into. What was the source for 12v?

I was wondering if there was a switch for changing power supply sources so looked at the manual. Didn't see one.

    davycrock.jpg

It does take A and B for #2 using a battery. Grill Power Cord connected to Battery Alligator Clips. But no power switch. First thing I would do is break out the meter to validate power coming in on the power cord that attaches to the grill, if not check power at the A\B connection.

Ya, I had it connected as #2 shows. I don't have a multimeter at home so I can't test the connection. But I will try and see if I can get power from the truck. If I can't get it to power from the truck, something is obviouusly wrong with it. But it works fine off 120 at least

If it works from 120v, it works from 12v, because 12v is what is being fed to it thru the adapter.
Maybe 1 of the battery clips wasn't connected good enough.
Maybe the plug wasn't making contact inside the battery clip connector.
Maybe the battery clip connector id defective. I doubt it.

What man does not own a multimeter?!?!?! :p
