yea, this is most likely. No one ever washes those out.

These are just the typical problems of an old vehicle.

You may need a new channel the felt wears out.

When I was looking at '65 Mustangs in '85, nearly all the unrestored ones had window problems.

i will have to head to the salvage lot when the weather warms up and dig one out to see what, where the felt is at, but i think i know what you are referring to
i will absolutely hate to have to bust these cherry doors and panels open for the first time :(
but hey i can finally get some newer door speakers!

No, silicone should be fine. It should say on the can if it's safe for rubber products. I'd spray it on a rag, wrap the rag over a small screwdriver handle that has a rounded head, or something that wont damage the rubber glass run, then wipe it down good.

I only said vaseline because it is safe for about anything.

It's not really 'felt' anymore. Not as literally as old cars.

If you get wind noise though with a window up, something has shrunk with age.

Doors are easy, be careful with handles or actually buy new ones beforehand, you're on borrowed time there anyway, cheap ones are cheap.

Using the number on the back it says this is a dormann regulator but for the right side.

When installed does the motor point up or down?

Fixed It! Now can roll around with my pimp hand showing. : )

It was a regulator from the passenger side. I knew something was just not right. Took my time and put it back nice and tidy. Swapped out the bulb in the armrest and put some new bulbs in the dash. I need to replace a few of the clips for the door panel.

Man that was a real head scratcher.

Cost me $84 and upside is I guess I now have a spare window regulator for the passenger side. What a cluster!

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying. Did you replace the passenger regulator then realize that was not the problem? Is that how you ended up with a spare?

    New to me Tacoma.

Drivers side window would not roll all the way down.

Took out the regulator and said, “something is not right about this set up”

Googled numbers on the drivers side regulator only to find somebody had placed a passenger side regulator in the drivers door.

Replaced regulator with a drivers side regulator and now it works fine.

Surprised to learn it would fit and work to a degree.

741-800 right side regulator aka passenger side
741-799 left side regulator aka drivers side

    it’s a crazy world esse!

Side note for the heck of it, a 2002 Extended Cab driver side regulator connection is behind the speaker panel. Just an FYI.
