What did you do with the grommet going through the floor...? Did you go through the old one, or use the new one?

The kit comes with the new grommet pre-installed onto the harness.

Just did. Was so excited I found the installation instructions here and was able to do it myself without a YouTube vid. I wanted to let everyone know that the instructions work well.

The OEM harness comes with a grommet preinstalled. There are two existing grommets under the passenger seat. One is used by an existing wire loom. The other is unused and gets swapped with the OEM kit grommet. No need to reuse the existing grommet.

Pro tip, the unused grommet is right above the frame rail, towards the inside of the truck.

Good to hear... I thought they were using the grommet that has an existing wire and was worried the new grommet was going to have a split in it. I'll be ordering this kit soon now that we know everything fits the pre-19 years.

@Bertw192 These clips fit okay as well? No modification to tail gate or bumper panel? Thanks.

I emplore you to take a look at my lesson learned here. I broke one of them installing them in upside down by following the Tacoma directions to the tee. This was the one step that lacked specificity.

How long does it take the average joe to install? My thoughts were roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.

I didn't time myself, but it felt like just over an hour. I took my time and did a few other upgrades at the same time, like the Sabellco tailgate lock.

In that case, budget two hours and take your time with the directions. It really wasn't bad.

I removed the 4 bolts holding down the passenger seat and leaned it back to more easily access the pass through. Retorque to 27 ft/lbs.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but bam wholesale has this for 130 plus shipping. Shipping for me was only 9 bucks.

Always an option. I have big hands and just fished the wire down about 6" back under the edge of the carpet using my fingertips. Easy peasy.

You made out about $20 bucks better than I.

I bought it direct from my local dealership. My parts guy will price match almost anything I throw at him. So I got mine 140 out the door. Gonna pick it up Thursday after my 10k service, and have a go at the install.
