Just recently purchased a Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300, looking forward to start using it. Anyone use this one and have suggestions?

Yeah, read about VLF and PI machines.

Btw, you CAN use a VLF on the beach, but the more "mineralized" the medium gets, the more it will mess with a VLF machine. The only way to basically "compensate" is by adjusting "sensitivity".

Mineralized soil/water virtually has no affect on a PI machine.

I have a Garrett 350. One thing besides my crappy technique is when I get an indication and dig and screen and dig.....and come up with NOTHING and the indication is sometimes still there and sometimes vanished. Leaves me frickenbaffled.

It's not just the Garrett. That is called a "halo affect".

Nice choice for the F44. I came really close to getting that one, but was having money issues.

Anyways, that would be a very nice detector, I'm pretty sure. HAHAHA, the reason why I was going to buy it myself if I didn't have money problems. :spending::frusty:

I have used the Garrett Pro-Pointer ($128 AMZN) and the Whites TRX Bullseye ($149 AMZN) and prefer the Garrett. The reason is that the Whites is too sensitive. Yes, it works great on small gold, but the sensitivity often causes it to False (false signal) in mineralized ground. The Garrett is more suited for coins because of this.
I still use my Whites, but it is on it's last legs. When I am ready for a new one, I will get the Garrett.

I still have my original Garrett Pro Pointer.

It's gotten pretty beat up from use, but still usable.

Very cool. My Whites hasn't held up as well as I think it should have. The button works when it wants to...

When my pro pointer finally goes, I'll get the "Garrett Carrot".

Until then, using my pro pointer.

I put Scotch tape over the piezo speaker hole on my pro pointer because that thing was too loud.:goingcrazy::lalala:

    I'll take a picture when I get a chance.
