I'll bring mine. When and where? Not knocking the TDI swap at all. My daily is a 2003 Jetta TDI. My rig still has the 5vz. It's also got a few other things to help that out. lol

Do we have to wait for you to reset your blown beads?

This thread makes me miss my 1988 Toyota I had I put a dodge 318 V8 in with full width 8 lug 3/4 ton axles. If only I had the money back I spent building it :D

    Nice Job!
Do you have any thoughts on fryer oil?
    https://www.greasecar.com/product-page/vw-tdi-conversion-kit

I’m a chef and have access to a virtually unlimited supply of fryer oil. This makes a diesel conversion very attractive to me.

I can’t do it where I live due to smog. However, I’m looking to relocate to somewhere more affordable and having a diesel swap veggie oil burner would potentially be apart of that equation.

I had an extended family member who did this with an older vw Jetta. It was a really cool project and it didn’t take too much retrofitting.

It doesn’t take magic that’s for sure, it just suits what I wanted to build and I’m excited it’s working as well as it is.

Because they weigh 800 lbs. and have no balance shafts, hence the nickname "paintshaker."

Awesome to see and hear. Traveling through central and south america I was always jealous of all the diesel pickups I would see (Mazda, Toyota, etc) that you can't get here. I'd definitely consider doing something like that when my engine needs a rebuild down the road. Would love to hear of the overall process, how it's done, and how much custom modification would be required (is it realistic for average person to complete with home tools).

Also, I had 1998 Dodge 2500 cummins 12 valve diesel I converted to a 2-tank vegetable oil system that I had really dialed in if people are serious about doing a conversion, plus lot of little things I learned along the way.

Nice choice on the 318. Had a 97 ram 1500 single cab with the 5.2 and a glasspack and I ran that thing like hell. Wasn't crazy fast but man did it sound sexy and wouldn't die. Ran it up the mountains here in az with 2 spark plugs shot and it still did it without much hesitance; save for around the salt river pass which is notorious for beating rigs
