Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I will measure once I get home, but at initial glance it appears to be a circle with a diameter no larger than the widest part of the stock oval.

That’s a good question. Do you have the archive one? I’ve got one sitting in the garage right now. Along with a million projects.

Hey guys, I know this how been brought up plenty of times but here's my situation.

My battery has died after me buying it about 1.5 years ago, maybe 2. I'm starting to think it's the intercooler pump. Is this the case? I live in Southern California and drive the truck everyday, I don't think the battery should die already.

I know there are threads about people removing the fuse or something like that. Can anyone link me? For right now, I removed the senor going into the pump just so it stops, but I'm not sure if that's a solid solution. If you guys can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!

I haven’t seen a thread specifically depicting a different fuse to tap, but that is the basic premise. I think @12TRDTacoma switched his to a different fuse, but not sure which one. You just need to find a different system that is 1. Not powered when the truck is off. 2. Something critical that will not allow the truck to run if there is a fuse failure. (This is important so you don’t blindly drive around with boost and zero circulation of coolant). You could also install a light to visually show your pump is on as well if you just tap another fuse in the block.

I actually do not have any guidance for you, as my intercooler pump is still running off the 10 amp fuse. The pump is either on or off though. I highly doubt it has any sort of parasitic draw, though anything is possible.

Are you handy with and have access to a voltmeter? If you do, I can help you resolve your issue.

The intercooler pump was a total half baked afterthought that executed properly should have a relay attached to the ign wire of the ignition which is wired in such a way where that relay is only engaged to run the pump while the engine is running.

It is a longtime project that I have been wanting to fix for a while now, but I keep forgetting to do.

I'm just curious to what is killing my battery as I doubt it's my alternator (85k miles) but as you said, anything is possible.

I am not handy but I am a good listener and have access to a voltmeter. My boss built cars for a living and has all these tools, he's just super busy with work related projects so I'm not trying to disturbed with my annoying little issue. But I have access to a lot of tools, almost any tool you can imagine.

More flow without the heightened exhaust note. It’s discussed a little bit a few pages back.

Well, it will require a process of battery disconnection and reconnections. Message me when you have a DVOM with a amp meter function and are ready to go.

Wait hang on... Did you say your battery died in two years? I'm going to ask a stupid question and ask what brand battery did you buy and what year was it produced. There should be a small circular label at the top of it which says (for example purposes I'm going to put this month and year) 12/19 which indicates the date of the batterys manufacture and production.
