In california there is a couple that nest in a pretty well known campground. One of my buddy's was allowed to camp directly under their nest. He said it was one of the worst camping trips hes ever had lol. Said they were loud and were so big that every time they took off they would drop pine cones out of trees, said a few left pretty good scratches and dents on his new car.

The blind we been hunting out of I made it on a trailer so I could move it. The blind is old pallets and has worked great. The only problem is all the gaps let birds, snakes, bees, whatever in. I want to rake it off and start over.

A builder friend comes in our store and I ask him if he had any scrap after framing a house. He said they always have long 2” X 4”s with nail holes in them they can’t return and I’d be welcome to all he had. Said there will be some available in about two weeks on a house they are building.

A few minutes later another friend came in who doesn’t remodeling, I ask about where I could get some sample windows. He said he had some. I have one I bought at an auction years ago for $5. I need about 7 more.

Here’s a picture of how it sits right now and we have shot four deer out of it in the last two months.

So after killing his first deer Friday, Cole has been watching hunting shows today and ask me this afternoon if I would take him tomorrow afternoon. I said as long as momma don’t have anything planned we sure will. It’s a go for now, I would love to see him kill something with horns, anything, doesn’t matter to me and he has a green light on whatever. Not real sure why we didn’t go this afternoon, probably cause I had too much stuff to get done.

I see it with your picture. If this deer was shot with a bow from the far side the angle would have missed anything that would have killed it.

What I can’t understand is why the hair is jacked up the way it is around and below the wound if it’s a shot.

I shot a doe while sitting on a four wheeler five times with 3 1/2” buckshot at 30 yards. Had a blood trail 14” wide for 100 yards. Never found her. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t. All we can do is try.

Looks like its just where he was licking the wound. Could have been a long shot low draw weight, expandible didnt open properly, and no penetration or just another antler hit. I had an elk pic with perfect broadhead triangle scar completly healed.

Neighbor shot one with a bow several years ago through the neck with a bow and 3 days later had a picture of it eating corn with the hole. I guess there are ways...

Didn't mean to come across the wrong way, not my intention at all......but clearing up a misconception ain't preaching. It's just clearing up a misconception. Nothing more, nothing less.
