Looking for opinions on different companies for a drop bracket lift.
In Hawaii 4wheelparts (yes forbidden name) exclusively sells procomp. Trying not to go with them for matierals or labor. I know mauioffroad can bring in BDS and have heard really good things about BDS. Does BDS and fox work together or are they the same company?

Looking to go with a 6" kit and fox or king shocks and cranked to 7.5" front and roughly 6.5" rear.

Unless something changed. Last I did research, Fox Factory bought Sport truck USA back in 2014. Sport Truck USA owns BDS & Zone as well as a few other brands. This thread has tons of info on drop Bracket Kits:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fabtech-procomp-6-lift-or-more-pictures.43093/

Here is a basic summary I threw together when I was buying:

BDS - 6" kit available Fox Coilovers, factory protection plus warranty. Soild kit probably the favorite on here.

Zone - essentially the same kit as BDS in design (I have this kit on my 15). but no warranty

Fabtech - beefy arched drop brackets that replace the whole rear X-member instead of just a small cut for the front drive shaft. Pretty awesome design/look. Dirt logic coilover option. i have heard turning radius is worst with the Fabtech Steering stops but do not have personal experience. (you lose turning radius with any of these kits with the steering stops anyways)

Procomp - Lift Shield warranty option to run their MX2.75 coilovers. 4WP distributes, sometimes they have a really good rebate deal too

Rough Country - cheapest 6" kit if you look at comparisons the spindles and such are not as beefy as the others. they do have a 6" strut option that uses stock springs but I know nothing about them

Readylift - they have a 6" kit also I know nothing about ...

RCD - 4.5" BD kit that a lot of guy like that uses Extended Bilstein 5100s (4.5")

Bulletproof suspension - 12" crazy kit... I know little about it but its expensive and cool and i saw a couple in Hawaii!

As for Shocks/Coilovers with these kits I believe they are interchangeable like you can run dirt logic, king, radflo, or Fox with procomp, zone, bds, etc. What I did on budget: I ran the Zone 6" lift with RCD 5100s (4.5") and Toytec/Eibach 620 coils (1.6") to achieve 6.1" of lift with no spacers in the front and not using expensive coil-overs. PM me if you have questions or search the thread above. good luck!

I can confirm the Fabtech lift turning radius is horrendous! My brother has that kit and I have the Rough Country. Would not recommend the Fabtech after driving trucks with both lifts.

Really appreciate he breakdown. This helps a lot. Most people here in Hawaii run procomp lifts because of the availability from 4wheelparts.
I really like the BDS kit and would love to have the 2.5" full coilovers as well.
Not sure yet how I'm going to do the rear. I'm leaving towards keeping my Dakar HDs and putting 4.74" lift shackles from archive garage because I would rather not use blocks.

No problem. Post pix when the truck is done! I have the 4" Zone rear blocks with no issues in 7000 miles of driving so far but I do not beat my truck at all.

Traveling in Maui for 10 days is the who what where when and why when I got home I had to get a 6" setup and also found a passion for scuba... Cool trucks out there and it is an amazing place!!

Oh yup Maui and big island have lots of lifted tacomas. I live on Oahu where most of them are for show which is cool too.
Scuba is awesome too. Wish we had more fish on the reefs though. Overfishing is killing them.
