So you have a 2WD version, correct? That's still a pretty good deal...

Yes 2WD...just the basic Sr5...but Cement exterior and interior. I think I did OK....again..I think they hosed me for about 500 on the trade in (granted they started at 6400 which was ridiculous)...and all of the sudden there was 300 for floor mats/tint...typical dealer stuff...but I think I did ok

Drives me crazy. I did a no nonsense deal with my dealer, luckily. I gave him my number on the trade in and new vehicle to include all TTL and fees and the final paperwork came back like $2k higher (naturally). There was a miscommunication between the title clerk and the salesman though and they fixed it rather quickly. Like you said, you still did alright.

I came into the dealership with the promise of a 2020 SR5 @ 28450...as far as I know, that is relatively close to invoice...so the challenge was fending off all the other ways they could screw me over..

Ha! Good luck with that. I will say that this was the best buying experience I've ever had by a long shot. On a different note, at least you thwarted that other post too. It's locked now!

$33,000 OTD for a SR MGM DCSB V6 4x4 with all weather floor mats, bed lights, predator step tubes, and a few other items.

The best thing is they gave me more money for my trade-in than what I paid for it. Could have possibly got a few dollars more, but they caught me off guard with such a solid offer on my trade. Now I just need wheels and tires and a bed cover. Pretty excited for my first Tacoma!

Did you actually finance that much? What was the price before your trade-in?

The final price for the truck by itself was $33k OTD (tax/title/license included). It was around $25k with my trade. I put a little over half down and financed the rest.

The truck never made it on their website, so I don’t know the MSRP, but similar models were around $34,650. I also bought this during Toyotathon and two other people from my family have bought from them in the past year.

I had another dealer at $32,750 OTD, but they were giving me considerably less for my trade-in and didn’t have the predator tubes, bed lights, and a few other miscellaneous items.

IMG_2624.jpg IMG_2737.jpg I drove to Austin Texas to purchase an American Made (Texas) 2020 Limited 4x2 in Voodoo Blue. Came with the factory tonneau cover, carpet mats, stainless steel exhaust tip, cargo bed light, power tailgate lock, ball mount (woo-hoo), polished stainless steel step tubes, vehicle protection package.
    Dealer option: Lifetime Tint

    Vehicle: $39742.02 (with tint)
    2018 Tacoma Limited 4x2 trade: minus $28,000
    Rebates: minus $1500
Deposit: $2000 to hold (drove from Florida and back)
Went all out: 84/125,000 mile extended service plan ($3,047)
    72/95,000 mile prepaid maintenance ($1939)
    plus $4986.00

Paid tax/title/Doc: (Florida) $1373.77 oh plus $81.07 dealer inventory tax (?) probably ripped on that!

Anyways, out the door and on the road home for $14,718.86

2020 Taco OR 4x4 DCSB (voodoo blue). Tech package, tube steps, and a few other port unnecessities (chrome exhaust tip, tie down brackets).
Window sticker (MSRP): $40,102 + TTL
TrueCar (USAA) offer from dealer: $34,032 + TTL

I contacted every other dealer in Southern SoCal (SD, Imperial, OC), providing enough information to match the vehicle (not color or vin) and got several offers, none of which beat. Two (three?) suggested that it was a scam and should I try to buy from them when the deal fell through.

Dealer added "options" (tint, clear coat, security, etc.) that they said would add $2700 to price. I refused. They relented. The vehicle appears to have light tint on windows, clear coat, door edge protectors.

That made me laugh.. I did not read beyond that point though. They are all same quality of trucks highly scrutinized by Toyota. I honestly can tell you mine was indeed also made in "America" (you know... the continent we reside on with several other countries), now whether it was made in US or Mexico I cannot say.. but to be honest, does it really matter?

    Of course.. Merica!

Just purchased a 2020 double cab, 4x4, Sport, TRD, with tech package, long bed, running boards, heated cloth seats, etc. No moonroof or leather. MSRP was $43,400. I paid just under 38k, and $42,200 OTD with the misc. fees.

I paid $32,000 for 2018 two years ago
Received $28,000 in trade ($167.00 a month use)

2020 is the same model but with upgraded features that I wanted.

    WHY? Because I can.
