As 2020 comes with both Carplay and Android Auto.. you could get maps for just the cost of data on your phone... and they are always up-to-date... and new UI... and a choice of several maps.... and no dealer costs

Little off topic but.... I have a 17 OR and I'm fixing to get a loaded 20 stick. With Apple play can I get a my app button on the HU that I use to open my driveway gate? Be nice not to grab the phone every time I near home.

I am unsure if your app will support that or not, that is entirely up to the app developer. With that said however you do have Home Control buttons on your mirror (not sure what package you have to get to include that) which can be programmed to Garages, Gates, and other Home control devices.

yeah, that is really shitty. I ran into that same issue when I was researching how the Dynamic Nav worked, and how much it cost. The whole thing eventually just turned me off it it altogether, and I never even bothered trying to follow up with the dealer when they blew me off and failed to get back to me on the issue. That's OK though, because when it comes time for me to fill out the precious "Dealer Survey" from Toyota, I have the feeling they won't do very well.

Most likely USB however there are a few options out there to convert to wireless with a USB to wireless dongle. I been looking to go that route myself.

I hooked my iPhone up via USB but couldn't get the satellite view of the map to display. How was that done?

It was in the on-screen settings of Google Maps. Sounds like Apple doesn't have that functionality? I like it a lot better than the standard digital map view.

I believe you also need to turn on Sat view on the phone itself not thru Carplay... Not 100% positive on this.

Satellite view is displayed on the phone, but it’s just the map that is displayed on the screen of the truck.

So it will only show Sat view using Andriod Auto with Google maps? I will need to test this out, I have both phones.

No, it works on iPhone as well. When you’re in google maps, tap the screen and then tap the gear icon in the top right then enable sat view.
