Has anyone went down to the wash in colton/riverside area? I saw a video where all these trucks went down the river bed at night at least 20-30 trucks, and side by sides deep.

I was thinking the same thing actually. With how much snow we've gotten down here lately it would be a shame to miss out on it...and having New Year's Day off I may as well try and do something fun with the truck

Last year on new year's day my wife and I drove up to Big Bear with my father in-law...for some dumb reason we took the highway up and just to get from the bottom of the 330 up to Green Valley Lake exit it took damn near 2 hours of bumper to bumper traffic. The three of us crammed into my truck and me burning my clutch up the entire time crawling up that highway lol. Soooo many people up there that day.

Of course at the time I didn't know about Coxey Road/3N14 and how that goes up into Big Bear without taking the highway. I guess my point is I'm a little concerned how crowded trails might be that day. But, I'm willing to try it out if anyone else is. Doesn't have to be Big Bear, even the Pilot Rock area and Lake Arrowhead should have considerable snow right now. Or even the other direction around Gorman in the Los Padres forest. Drove through the Grapevine a couple days ago on our way home from Santa Cruz and it's blanketed in snow up there right now, but they are more strict about vehicle travel in that area when there's snow.

agreed, you're being nice about it lol. I'll assume @rageagainstjgo didn't know it was unauthorized area but yeah...if it is then stay out of it. People doing stuff like that are the reason we end up with more and more restrictions on OHV areas and trail closures in general. When the general public sees stories in the news about land getting torn up by off-roaders in restricted areas they are far more likely to form negative opinions about the hobby as a whole, and then they vote in laws/restrictions against OHV use.

We live in CA and have some of the best access to the biggest variety of trails and public land usage in the continental US...absolutely no reason or excuse to be going into areas that you're not allowed to

...that being said, I was 18/19 years old once and made a lot of stupid decisions in that department. But 15 years ago things were not as tense as they are now with OHV laws and media painting the hobby in a negative light. It's in our best interest to do what we can to counter that by setting good examples.

I'm in for Coxey or Pilot rock/arrowhead if you're willing to start after 10:30-11. It's likely to be a late NYE for me.

Sounds good, I'm up for either of those as well. I've got a couple things to do to the truck but should be able to get them knocked out by Wednesday, I'll post on it tomorrow

Anybody else interested in running up Coxey Rd/3N14 tomorrow from Hesperia into Big Bear? Should be lots of snow up there, @theluharlifestyle and I are planning on doing it in the later part of the morning around 10 or 11am I think.
