When lifting 2.7 reg cabs has anyone got more lift than they were planning on, due to our light weight trucks? If so how much did you end up with and with what kit?

If you're wondering if you can end up with much more lift than expected, you won't.

If you're looking at items made for our trucks, that means the research and development has already been done, granted with a small margin of error.

For a lift up front, coilovers are adjustable by adjusting the preload, or even replacing the coil spring for those running an aftermarket bumper and/or winch.

Thank you, that is exactly what I was wondering. I appreciate your input.

I have a second gen, but same concept.

I have OME 884's and HD Dakars on my truck. I may have gotten ~ 1/4-1/2" more lift than V6 trucks.

With that being said, what are you looking to achieve with your truck?

How will you be using it?

    What's your budget?

Alot of people run 5100s all around with OME coils or they run the entire OME kit with leaf pack.

I was looking at this My off highway driving mainly consist of logging roads hunting, and cutting wood (small loads no trailer), and quite a bit of on highway snowpack.

I'm running Billy 5100's with mine. They are great, but curious if I should have gone all OME.

Are your 5100's up front, if so what groove do you have them at?

You should not preload the 5100's, it will make the ride significantly worse. Use the spring for the lift.

I have 5100's in the front and the extended 5125's in the rear.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm gonna go with the OME kit with the leaf pack.

I have a regular cab with OME suspension and I got a lot more front lift than anticipated. I got 880 front coils which are supposed to provide 1.5-1.75" of lift on a regular cab. I got over 2.5" which after a few years eventually settled to about 2.25." I had to get SPC upper control arms to get a good alignment. I would have eventually bought those anyway, though. On the plus side, it easily cleared 33" tires.

The OME leaf springs are excellent. I got about 2.5" of rear lift from those. I would not recommend removing any leaves as a lot of people do. They are really flexy and a couple hundred pounds in the bed will make them sag. In fact, I believe @Jiveydude had to get overload springs for his regular cab.

Thanks, for the information! It's good to know about needing new UCA. I was hoping to not need those if I could stay closer to 2". The fact 33's easily fit is huge plus. I appreciate the help.
