    Hi all.
I just purchased the sdhq winch mount and I’m trying to figure out which winch to use with it.
To those who have used mount, which winch did you go with? I’m trying to find one that works with it in the 500 range.

From my research...Any that are about the same size as the warn zeons will work, you'll just have to drill new mounting holes since it was made for that model. I just ordered it too, looking forward to installing it soon!

Here is a Warn M8000 install, shows more pics so you can get an idea on the size under there - Mash Me.

Awesome thanks! I already got a shipping notification for the mount.

I’m leaning towards the warn evo 8. Another tw member installed that one.

Wow! Nice job cutting out the bumper for the fairlead. Looks very clean in the picture you provided.

Thanks! It was definitely the part I was worried the most about. I was using a dremel and small cut off wheel so it wasn't the best tool for the job. After the rough cut out I switched to the little barrel sanding attachment on the end of the dremel. Turned out better than expected.

HMM, was the install pretty simple? I'm mechanically inclined but a little skeptical about getting started. Was it easier than you thought? Is there any surprises like; tool or other parts you need?

I'm just busy waiting around for my SSO bumper to show up. The 3-4 month lead time is killing me slowly.

Install wasn't too bad. Removing the bumper sucked, the directions weren't great for that part but a quick search of youtube got me through it. Also drilling the 2 holes on the driver's side for the tow hook mount took me a while, mostly because my good drill was loaned out to a friend. Make sure you have several bits to step up to the size needed. I also had a 1/2 impact driver so that helped getting the large bolts tight. The large lock nuts would have been labor intensive if I didn't have air tools since they are a little out of round and require some muscle to tighten if doing it by hand. If you need any other pics just yell and I'll see if I have them from my install.

    I got mine installed!

Its pretty straight forward. I think the most challenging part for me was getting the bumper and flare clips removed! I broke one of them in the process.

I think overall it took me 4 maybe 5 hours to complete. That's with the winch install too.

I didn't take many pics of the process because I was just trying to get it done. I did it the night before an of road event.

I'll post a pic of my valance cut soon.

I bought the mount and winch on black Friday. Cost me right around 1000 for everything.

Which winch did you end up going with?

    I went with the smittybuilt x20 10k.
I've used it couple of times to get up snow covered trails in New Hampshire. Work great!
