I was able to write one check and not borrow a cent. Which would not be possible with a new one.

My 1st gen is my work horse. Put 200 to 500 miles a day on her. She is loaded with work related dents and dings. My 2nd gen hauls my camper and boat. The 2nd gen feels like getting into a Caddy after driving the 1st gen all week. Sometimes the old girl needs a little help for maintenance like a timing belt.

Great backup/recreational rig with a Prius daily driver. Prius is great for commuting in a big city and doing Uber/Lyft rides. Taco for mostly fun activities.

Someone here had a preference for double cab long wheel base. Pretty nice I’ve got a white Pre Runner 06 with 130k on the clock barely broken in, no rust. But before that I had a 06 Pre Runner Sport speedway blue w/191k miles and a 06 red X Runner w/ 142k. All are tight and outside of routine maintenance they perform as new. I like Tacoma’s because I’ve been a longtime owner and understand the quirks and special needs but know if you pay attention to those you’ll get hundreds of thousands of miles payback. The resale value of these trucks ain’t bad either. I still have all three and didn’t plan on having red, white and blue but it looks nice.

All the details can be seen in my build thread. It's the best because it's mine and I did 99% of the work to it myself. I also built it as I began using it and adding to it what I thought I "need". It also gets my family outside with me along with my daughter and her friends. It's just overall awesome.

My truck is the best because:

    1.) skewp
    2.) MGM
    3.) DCSB
    4.) 4x4
    5.) 2nd gen sport = Bilsteins stock
6.) it has 160k miles but it runs like a damn top..

    :D

What I like about the 1st gen is that wheel size to body size ratio is better looking, on 2nd get same size wheels look small-ish.

In 09 my fiance purchased this truck for me used. That same year I drove her away from the church in it after marrying her.

    Tacoma.jpg Tacoma 2_LI.jpg

It didn't look like this when I got it but this is how she looks at 165k and 11 years later. I love her and wont sell her and that goes for the truck as well....
