A tundra is not an upgrade.

My gripe is there's no storage. None. At least my Tacoma AC had the cubbies under the rear seats. But it's big for sure. Fold up the seats and I can get lots of gear back there.

I dont know how you use your truck, but another thing to consider is the really low payload ratings. My Tundra can't haul as much weight as my Tacoma did. I have the Platinum though, which is the lowest PL for the Tundra.

It's got airbags installed already so that will help alot if I haul. At most I tow a 22ft boat that's only about 3500lbs fully loaded

It will pull that no problem. It's really only a concern when you want to haul a trailer anywhere near it's tow capacity. My 5500 lb TT pretty much maxes out my payload.

Almost 4 years ago I had to make the same choice. I reached the point where I needed a bigger truck. I could have traded my 07 Tacoma and gone with a new 2016 F150 or Tundra. Or for about the same money out of pocket could keep the Tacoma and buy a used 2014 F150 or Tundra. Used Tundra's that met my requirements did not exist, used F150's did.

I now have a 2007 Tacoma and a 2014 F150. I have no regrets. The Ford burns 1 more gallon per mile, but hauls and tows much more, is far more comfortable and has been 100% reliable. It has 84,000 miles on it and the tires and front brake pads are the only parts that didn't come from the factory. And the front pads lasted 83,000 miles.

Right now I think F150 is the better option than Tundra. It hauls more, tows more, gets better fuel mileage, and if there is any advantage in reliability it is going to be small. The Tacoma is the king of mid-size trucks, Tundra, not so much. Hoping Toyota makes some changes soon.

If you need the room, towing, or payload then you need a bigger truck. If not stay with the Tacoma. If you can afford it keep the Tacoma AND buy a big truck.

So is the amount of space required to park it if you live in any sort of urban environment!

I bought a Tundra a few months ago and have been wanting to drive the thing thru the lobby of the stealership and into the managers office.

Experiencing shakes and vibrations, Now they're playing hot potato with making it right. I'm on the brink of an all out campaign assault to expose their lack of taking ownership of this bs.

The F150 came in second on my list but I would happily own one. You didn't mention resale. And I'm glad yours has been reliable but the ratings I looked at all showed the Tundra clearly at the top of all trucks on reliability. The Tundra is a very heavy truck which is why it's efficiency and specs suck. But I think it might also result in a more stable feeling towing experience with the same load.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
After it went out of warranty I spent about $2 a mile. I had a year of extended power train coverage because of prior issues so ended up spending a little over 2k after that ran out before I dumped the POS.

Hmmm... “burns 1 more gallon per mile...”. Either you have money to burn or your calculations are slightly off... :D

At the stealership now to tell them my numbers and then I'll be on my way. It's funny how much they lie to sell cars!
