Yes I do, each magnet has 30lbs of pull. So each drain plug has 2 magnets stacked having 60lbs of pull. I’ve been driving over 40 years and have always used magnets there. The magnet in the drain plug isn’t strong enough for my liking.

Wouldn't one or two 30 lb magnets stacked still have 30? Stacking magnets increases strength?

So when is it necessary to do the carrier bearing?

This may need to be its own forum post and question as its outside this forum post. The issues that the main shaft and carrier bearing make you feel are different from the needle bearing.

That is up to the OP if he wants this in his thread, not you.

Carrier bearing helps alleviate bad driveline angles. Only needed if you have rear end vibes. Not usually needed for DCLB.

If you have rear end vibes, you need to measure your driveline angles. Then address with appropriate axle shims and the carrier bearing drop.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up, been seeing the cb thing come up on the forum. Not trying to hijack OP’s thread just a quick question on a related topic..

Would this bushing be recommended for a stock Tacoma for preventative maintenance in the long run?

Only lifted, the needle bearing does go on stock trucks but its stupid rare.

I did a 4runner front diff last week that had the same symptoms but Toyota wants full diffs on the newer trucks.

That's a tough one. If it were me no, unless I felt the vibes.

Some stock trucks do exhibit this issue. I believe there is a TSB for it. But all Toyota does is replace with the same bearing.

I installed the bushing last week. I’ve got about 500 miles on it. My vibration is solved. Thanks for the help gentlemen

So from what I've been reading, lifted 3rdgen 9 times out of 10 you will have to replace this bearing? That is not fun at all, well let's hope I'm one of the ones that won't have any issues
