    Tis not a lip. Just a very slight ridge. Comes with the weather, kinda unavoidable. I can cut the rotors if it bugs me. doesn’t make noise so I don’t care. It’ll get ebc brakes this summer though

    The edge is where the pad doesn’t ride. So it gets a little rust ridge there since we get the wonderful road salt and cold

    Boy you got that all backwards. Ceramics eat damn rotors. Plus it’s not a ridge in like your thinking. It’s a lip of rust build up. Hit it with a wire wheel and it’s gone for a day

    I’ve never had rotor wear issues with anything but ceramic pads. I run semi metallics on everything but the avalon.

    ceramic is harder than steel

    Meh, I like ceramics even if the general consensus is that they are hard on rotors. Rotors are a cheap enough expense to only have to replace every 4-6 years. I dont cut em either.

    Ceramic pads absolutely wear the rotor. They don't wear the rotor out as fast as semi metallic, but they do wear the rotor out too.
    That lip on is wear the brake pad rides on the rotor. It's a dimensional thing where the pad rides on the rotor, not a brake pad material thing.

    Yeah some makes have pads that go all the way to the edge of the rotor, others (typically American cars) dont and have huge ugly rust ridges. I buy rotors with painted edges so I dont really have that issue.

    I run them on the 02 taco. Dusty, but man they stop good. Last about 70k miles too. Rotors show no wear
