I have a 2010 Regular Cab 4x4 with stock steelies. Color is Timberland Mica. I'm very close to just spray painting the stock steelies black (like I've seen many have). Has anyone done this with the Timberland Mica? My concern is that the fender flares on my truck are not a dark black but more of a dark gray / charcoal. So wondering if I should go maybe with a charcoal spray paint color. Also gloss or flat paint? I know in the end it's up to me but I'd like to see what everyone thinks. Any pics would be greatly helpful. BTW, if it helps a pic of my truck is in my avatar.

    Thanks

That's what my wife says (but who listens to them?). I was hoping to make the truck look a little more custom without spending much. Maybe I'll just upgrade the tires first and see how it looks.

    that's what I'm gonna do...

Unless I come across a deal on a set of alloys...I'm rollin' the silver OEM steelies on my SR5...

the bitch is...a $400 factory upgrade to the SR5, would have got me the OR alloys and 265 tires. Why the ordering dealer didn't check that box on a 30 thousand dollar truck, I'll never know. lol.

I think I am going to paint mine flat black to match bull bar and tail light protectors .I have very small spots of rust on mine already. North east road salt and 1.5 mile dirt road to work every day . : (

I just painted mine on a 2006 extended cab a gloss black, powdercoated the lug nuts anodize blue, and black hubs. Removed the mud guards. Drastic change in look of the truck. Inspired me to order new exhaust and mesh the grill!

LOL, I know what you mean. My '99 was an extended cab TRD with SR5. Had a 26k sticker. Yet it came with a tape-deck (no cd) and no clock. The clock is only a $60 option. These guys are amazing.

Yea, I know what you mean about the roadsalt. I'm convinced that's part of what did in my '99. The flat black will look awesome on yours. On another note, have you been getting your truck undercoated? I did mine all the time on my '99 and still the frame rusted right through. Never did it on any of my cars.

Sounds good. I like the anodized blue on the lug nuts. Definitely post some pics when you get a chance. What color is the truck?

Looks good. Thanks for the pics. I wouldn't have thought of the high temp.

Have not undercoated, I have very minor surface rust here and there . I work out of a soil facility, all dirt road. Dust bowl or mud hole ,lots of small stones on the dirt road too. It really sucks. I pretty much power wash every week. Lots of wax too ! Truck has only 29600k ! I hope these newer Tacos do not have a rust issue. I would like this to be the last truck I buy .
