Also swapped my Pioneer Deh-8800bt to my deh-9600bt that they discontinued.

 

Torque wrench is accurate correct? Don’t want to know how many times I’ve had buddies torque wrench’s read way too low

Could be a million things though

My thoughts exactly. I opted to go slightly below factory torque with some blue locker because the old bolt was stretch a good bit and I didn’t feel like snapping another one.

 

Shes all back together now and the shakedown went well.
Unfortunately the oil pan reseal did not solve my problems and its still leaking a lot of oil out what I’m now sure is the rear main seal.
So the engine will be pulled this spring and replaced with a lower milage one since Im going through all the trouble of removing it anyway.

 

Fair warning. Replace the seals on the new engine. Those low mile ones leak like no other once they start getting driven

 

Get some ATP 205 and dump it in on your next oil change. That will slow down, if not completely stop, the rear main leak.

 

Oh yea definitely I will. I'm super picky with any used engine. If I cant find one worth taking and resealing then I can always opt for the money route and get a reman with a warranty also.

 

my experience with reman has been.. eh pretty bad! lol oem used is best bet as long as its checked out and looks good.

put a jasper reman in a customers camry... 3 engines later we finally got one that made it to 5k miles. first 2 popped headgaskets

 

yikes... that is not ideal. there are a couple Toyota specific engine rebuilders around me that have a pretty good reputation for quality work. It does pay to be a skeptic though. I haven't been satisfied with any shops I've had do work for me in a long time.

 

Finally got around to replacing my 15 year old coilovers with Monroe Quick Struts.
Speed bumps don’t knock my fillings loose now.

 

Too many horror stories. that stuff essentially "bloats" all your rubber seals and can cause more damage than it solves. Not a risk I want to take.

I can attest to this.

 

Went out and bought some Red N' Tacky for the drive shaft and some Super Lube for my TC UCA's. It was my first time greasing the UCA's. Took me a little bit to figure out it was easier re-torquing them from the engine bay than from within the wheel well.

Installed some gear tie downs towards the end of the bed. Getting ready for the next upgrade

 

If you're running straight synthetic oil it will cause weak seals leak.
Ask me how i know.

 

i wonder if it has something to do with being a mechanic.
