What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Here is a pic of mine he did for me. Mine are wired up independently with my Switch-Pros. One of my favorite mods.

 

Made my last payment on the truck with my overtime bonus.

Added door sill protectors. little by little the list is getting shorter

 

Look at Spartan X on Instagram. He probably makes the best hood scoop lights on the market now. Some TW members have them and he’s running a Group Buy now.

 

Its MESO’s original design. This set was made by @20tacoma17 though. Carbon copy of the originals.

I have it too but haven’t gone around to installing it, is your drain plug a different one?? Looks more flush with the skid diff?

 

the whole recession from 2008-2013, being out of a job for 9 months and then under employed for 4 years really had me watching my pennies.

 

As posted before they are @MESO design that he let me copy. They are not as bright as full on ditch lights but they do a really good job. No other lights are on in the night pics.

 

Nope, it’s all OEM. Figment is on the money.

 

I installed a pair of LED lights behind the grill. Could be another option for you.

I'm not a huge fan of mounting ditch lights on the hood corners. I know they work great in that location, but just seem a bit out of place. I thought about the scoop as well, but not sure you would get enough spread to function as a ditch light. Might be better for a driving or spotlight. I ended up running my "ditch" lights on the roof rack. They are 6" Rigid driving diffused, so have a super wide spread, and I only have a very slight shadow. The bumper light is a 30" flood, and the grill lights are 6" driving lights. With everything on, coverage is amazing.

 

Hood scoop will work great as a place for a driving LED bar, but will accomplish nothing as far as ditch lighting goes. The light fall-off across each side of the hood would probably appear as a greater shadow than without any light at all.

 

It's only been a few days but I'm very happy with them. Drove at night once and in the rain once and they are hands down better than oem. Super pricey but I'm sure I'll be even happier after I take my next trip.

 

Are they really as blue in person as they appear in the photos?

 

Not at all. Stark white when looking at them outside the truck.
