I hope your successful with winch and turbo/inter-cooler. I'll be especially interested in the result of a two to four hour trail at 5-20 mph on a warm, humid day. What winch do you have?

Warn Zeon platinum 10k synthetic with SDHQ hidden winch mount. I’m in Maryland, so I think in about 6 months or so I’m hoping to have turbos installed and a nice humid day to test at Rausch off-road Park.

Well here is the larger IC mounted

    Hope that helps you?

The brackets in the released kit won't be those, though

The A/C is already known to suck hence the TSB to add an AUX fan if people complain enough. I'm not sure how well this is going to work once people start stacking stuff in front of the condenser

Well the snow performance tank is just for our truck, not part of the kit.
Everything else in front there comes with the truck from Toyota, except the intercooler.

Not really, but I’m not so smart. Hoping others will figure it out and post about it to be honest.

I mean, if the winch has gotta go then it’s gotta go.

I was just going to mention the meth. Glad to see you using it, I surely will be moving my AEM v2 Meth Kit over to the the new truck. That is..if you don’t recommend against using it at all, such as potential tuning complications?

The cooling properties of the kits will be a great help at near and full boost.

I don't forsee any tuning complications on current boost, since I've tuned it no problem. I have lots of data, knock logs, etc.
Pump gas has had no issues with 5,6,8,10psi.

Not only relying on the ECUs knock feedback I use live knock monitors and headphones on the dyno as well.

But, I don't see pump gas by itself being able to suppress knock when I see what happens at 20+psi on the powermax twins. So I'll spray methanol for that.

    and then later E85 etc.
Also have wideband on each bank and wideband at the tail hooked to the dyno

You think the bottom end will hold up at 20psi continuously? Your looking at 500+ whp :D

I'm not worried at all about the bottom end holding 500 :).
This engine is a beast, I've abused the hell out of mine on the dyno lol.
I've even sat at 2000 rpm full boost holding full load for a few mins straight,
    Revving to 7000+ in boost.
50+ boosted runs, rich, lean, port, direct, lean direct, super lean direct.
Other engines would have definitely blown.

I've even done full boost runs to 6000 on cold engine, cold transmission. literally start it up, 2 mins later at 6000 in boost.

My goal is to find out if anything will break it, before release.

The most interesting thing is the engine does best when everything is hot hot.

Prob not with the base Garretts’ as it will be well over its efficiency capabilities, am I correct or will you attempt to push past the envelope and find out:eek:

I was thinking about his big boy kit at 20psi.

Well with your knowledge I see full build coming someday to see just how much you can get out of it. Gonna be one hell of a Taco.

For the most part... boost tolerance is all in the tuning... and Matt clearly has his shit together.

My stock bottom end 3.8l Buick Grand Nationals were living on 28-30psi using race fuel. Knock and timing control is the only way to keep head gaskets on them.
Theres no reason our modern robust 3.5 shouldnt handle 30psi with Matt tuning it.

Id have no problem using a boost referenced alky system +93pump if it means i can push 20-25psi into this Taco 3.5. :)

The base kit turbos won't do 500.

Our numbers on the base kit are very respectable for the boost.
The torque numbers with TC unlocked are skewed so I'm not using that.

    355 ft lbs @ 2400 rpm
    325 whp. @ 5800 rpm
    - 6psi.
    (More boost is always possible).

This, in my opinion is exactly what most people will be looking for without going over board. And remember, more power on the base kit is simply a few psi away.
