Going to be putting on a 3/8 inch spacer on my drivers side to correct the “taco lean”. Will I need an alignment after I do this? Thanks!

Wouldn't hurt if you haven't had an alignment in a while.

It certainly couldn't hurt, especially if you haven't had one in a while.

But no, you probably don't NEED one.

I did a 3" suspension lift nearly 15 years ago. Should I have the alignment checked? I thought about doing this a few years ago, but never found a shop I trusted.

    Did someone say taco lean?

    3kijqx.jpg

But yeah, get an alignment not because of the spacer, but because you might need it if it hasn't been done in a while.

One is taking things all apart for a 3/8" spacer .

I guess you always park on completely level spots .

Anytime you remove or change suspension parts you should consider a alignment

    YES!

How do your tires not look like triangles?

    Here's your suspension:

When the wheel goes down, the top angles inward because the upper A arm is shorter than the lower.

At ride height, it is set up to run with the tire flat on the ground, but when you lift it your new ride height is now in a position where the tire would normally be angled inwards. So at your new ride height, you're running on the inside corner of the tire.

I did my lift 20 years and 150K+ miles ago and have gone through two going sets of BFGs, which wear evenly. It drives straight. I would still like to have it checked. However, I do not like to let anyone else work on my stuff and did check around a couple of years ago trying to find someone who could do alignments, but have not had any luck. I did ask on this website for this location (Norcal) and none of the places suggested will let me work alongside them.

The best and only place to get a quality alignment in which they actually know what they are doing and will actually make adjustments not ignore them are collision and frame shops. Not those tire places and the meathead with a rack but uses it for oil changes. And no. They ain’t gonna let you work beside them.
