Wow I'm also a 2014 B.S. Grad in Civil Engineering! Small world.

Loved my time there, but I didn't have much use for a masters... still don't.

brand new black FN pro 17x8 wheels.
These are $899 and this listing did have have a Craigslist ad for under $700
That’s a deal for a highly desirable wheel.

Good deal as well, would feel better if there were pictures of the actual tent, not copied from their site. Also, that new FSR is pretty sweet. As anticipated it is slightly out of my budget. I've also come to the realization that a flip open would most likely suit my needs better if the whole family joins. I need to really delve into reviews of models that look alright on paper and then once I have an idea of what I want I can keep an eye out.

Right now, tepui Autana ruggedized, tepui kukenam 3 ruggedized, CVT Mt. Ranier, or similar 3 person with high quality materials.

New FSR $2695 or $3195 depending on size if thats the tent you were referring to. The issue is more of the 83" length. I would like to avoid over cab or spare. Thats why I'm thinking flip open is a better option for me. Any expos this winter in the area? It would be nice to see a few of the options I'm considering before making a final decision.

Not that I'm aware of. We don't get many cool things like that on the east coast. They don't have a showroom or anything like that here.

I see the price now. I can't make up my mind if I like them or not. Right now, probably not worth it for me to upgrade to it.. I would like a roof rack, but I've found other options for the things I'd store up there - aka an origami kayak and my traction boards.

I didn't think so, but thought maybe there would be a convention center or something. Pittsburgh does one some time in the year, but it is more focused on RV's and stuff.

I was interested until I realized it was 83" long. That would require a complete rethink of the mounting. I would like to keep the tent in the bed, and not over the cab for the reasons you just mentioned. Origami kayak, interesting, always wondering how seaworthy they would be. I've been pondering how in the hell to bring my kayak with when i get a tent. I have a 12' 100 lb. yak. I also have a swing gate which isn't helping matters any.

I had a 12' one for a little bit. Only sold it because I was getting too fat to fit in it. I'm getting another one in the spring. They're not meant to do rapids, but they're good to just get out on the water. It can do a couple smaller bumps. I can fit it in the cab of my access cab - like the size of a suit suitcase. And only 25 lbs. Check out www.orukayak.com

Looks like you will be looking for a kayak trailer like @Subway4X4

That is pretty cool, but the rivers and creeks around here have many low areas in the summer. I usually have to get out and drag over rocks 2-5 times per trip on the little river, unless they are generating. The allegheny isn't bad and actually really nice where I live. All the creeks are pretty hard to navigate, but in spring offer opportunities. Mine is a floating barge, so it isn't the best vessel for those trips. I can haul 450 lbs in mine and it is sit on top about 36" wide. I have plans to do a floating hunt at some point because it is capable of handling me and a deer hopefully. Yes, eventually a trailer is a must. My wife enjoys kayaking and eventually the kids will as well. Now that I've made plans to take away the way to haul them I'm going to have to come up with something. I have an older trailer i never use that would be really nice repurposed as a trailer for kayaks.
