You do need a new bike. Yours sucks.

My dad needs a new bike too... he can't ride consistently because of all the auto shifting. I also proved my point with flat pedals yesterday. He's getting some now.

Yeah, clipless just isn't what you want for super technical riding IMO. Coming down Mountain Mist he ate it pretty hard when is front wheel lost traction and slid off the side of the trail. Ended up coming down real hard on his knee and elbow on a rock face. Thought he'd for sure broke something but somehow he was fine. Sounded like he split the rock in half when I heard it.

aw man that's awful I'm glad he's ok. that technical shit gets squirrely for sure. I honestly could have outpaced him when we rode, but I didn't want to leave him alone after watching him some.

Its only the technical stuff that slows him down. He got ahead of me a left me on the last half of Mountain Mist. He made his point. Lol.

oh for sure, he's got the endurance I don't have. I wasn't trying to insult, but it's amazing how different styles of riding are. Trey and I both were right behind him the whole length of bucca family, but you could tell he didn't have a feel for it.

Might have a frame up for sale soon if any of you Bama boys are interested.
Size medium, '18 Fuel EX 9.9 full carbon. Need to get around $1500 for it to be worthwhile.

Yeah, and his bike was giving him issues too. Found out the front derailleur got twisted and was contacting the chain ring. So there was that. But honestly, Monte Sano isn't a good place for a rider to get newly acquainted with mountain biking again. Too easy to get in over your head.

Haha kinda sorta. Ordered a new fork and a few other tidbits. Selling the skids I don’t use to help recoup some of the costs of those parts.

The new Tallboy and Optic have me drooling. I’ll have to sell my current frame first as that will only cover about half the cost of a new one.

If I can’t get a buyer at the price I want I’ll keep rocking it as I really do enjoy it. Plus I’ll have some brand new parts to bling.

Yea JB is gonna grab this weekend.

I can't say for certain how they compare to other company as I really didn't researched a ton prior to buying. Just based on some pictures they have more lateral coverage than others like RCI. Yes they are 2 main pieces with a 3rd cross brace/skid. The first post in the thread below has some pictures that will do a better job explaining what I am attempting to convey.

This is how she sits currently. Hoping to have my new Cane Creek Helm fork, Industry Nine A35 stem (turquoise), and Deity Ridgeline (turquoise) handlebars all setup by next weekend. New dropper and saddle too, but they won't make for much eye candy.

Yep. They want to give it days to dry out instead of the usual understood 24 hours after
