Well they are pending sold from someone on TW, so I'm not too worried about it. Either way, it shouldn't matter what they think they are or not. To take time out of your life to contact a seller, not even to show interest in their item, but to just let them know you think their price is comical is ridiculous. I just reply with "Then these are not for you." and go on with my day.

 

I think there are a lot of issues selling things on CL. I think some people don't understand what's being sold and are comparing apples to oranges. Plus lots of scams on CL. Buddy at work had issues just last week with that and I've had issues in the past as well. Stick to your guns and try not to let what others say and think get to you as they don't know what they are talking about. GLWS

 

I hear ya. I've sold endless amounts of things on CL before. I've had plenty of folks contact me and low ball me on items. I don't even mind that b/c they are at least trying to purchase it. These emails aren't even trying to buy, just trying to bump their ego's thinking they've done some type of justice to the CL community by calling out sellers on their pricing. Amazes me really. I would hate for them to ever visit an actually off road website and look at prices. They might crap themselves haha

 

Ive gone away from selling on CL just for that. I’ll post it but I’ll take more time to post it to FB marketplace. I know those tend to be real people

 

After 2 mins of posting i got scam messages basically trying to get my phone number to send me a google verification code. They were trying to get my number to use to set up a google voice phone number to scam someone else. That's when I thought about dusting off my old facebook account that has been closed for probably 10 years now just to sell stuff. Scammers have really ruined CL's.

 

I have done countless CL transactions.
There is most definitely an art to it.

I have only been burned once, and that guys mailbox got the brunt of that argument.

I have been in one situation in which I was going to be robbed for a motorcycle.
I told them that I was no longer interested in the sale, both my buddy and I drew our guns and told them to get in the car and drive away.
That was intense.

 

I still have pretty decent luck with CL.

 

Oh and one more thing. I don’t buy used landscape equipment off of CL, as I have been on the other end of the stick and have had my equipment stolen.

If it’s from a home owner that appears to have bought something that isn’t being used, that’s a different matter all together.

I agree. There is a difference between going back and forth on a price and just being an outright douche about things others are selling with no interest in buying. Totally uncalled for.

 

Yea I haven't used CL in a while. Definitely better options out there.
