Over Thanksgiving I made the steering wheel conversion in my 99 with @mechanicjon's help. This link includes prices I paid, and this link discusses the cruise control switch resistor issue I ran into.

You can get them from McMaster Carr for half the price of the dealership. Don’t have the number on me at the moment but I’ve posted it before. M10x1.25x35mm long as I recall.

You'll love it. We also have a 2003 V8, that 2UZ has so much low end torque and is so smooth, wish my truck had that engine instead of the 5VZ haha.

Man! I’d love to put a 2uz in my truck! Haha I hear the 2 major cons are it’s a interference timing belt, and the starter is like 8 hour job to replace

Starter, while a pain in the ass, isn’t too bad really.

Ya'll are making me feel better about my 5k weight lol. Though fully loaded I'm sure I'm at 5.5k.

I noticed that too. I figured they were longer since they had to go through the washer on the dust boot too. I kept my dust boots on the last install but ripped those integrated washers off. I am using the flanged style now, and honestly I feel like the blind ones barely engage, but it could be in my head too.

I always found it interesting that my Haynes manual always said 43 ft lb's but the FSM shows 59 for those. I split the difference with 50 ft lbs and blue loctite.
