son of a...I lost a LBJ boot dust cover yesterday. Or maybe before...just noticed it today. Was the one that had a broken ring where one of the bolts held on so I'm not surprised it finally let go.

I guess the older 1st gens run without them so it should be fine...probably pick up another one eventually.

Thank you for the explanation, I had never seen anyone do it on a taco so it perplexed me haha. IMO the rear on the 5 lug is soft as is so no clue why he changed it

There are a few people on here that have done it...TBH I haven't seen it on a 1st gen 4x4 but I know it's more popular with the 5 lug street trucks than 4wd ones, which is probably why we don't see it that often on here.

    I have mods
I've already got D3 filters on hand so I'll stick with those.

Both inner CV boots are completely torn, gunna have to fix those. And I confirmed the XREAS shocks are shot on all 4 corners. I'll ditch those when I do the lift and go with traditional shocks.

Also removed the POS hood insulation, I hate that shit. And removed the OEM running boards. Looks much better now, at least heading in the right direction. Noted that I have XREAS shit on the frame rails that will need to be removed to install sliders when I get to that point.

makes sense, thank you for that! IMO as a 5 lug guy I feel like a rear cage and some good springs would be better, will be the route I go if/when haha

Looks nice I won't lie. Guy said he had some janky things going on in order to fit the tires tho. If I go that big it'd be a shit load of cutting. Really like the look like you said, contemplating......

Got a fun one at work today. This should be a good head gasket for my 1FZ.
