And they have running plays designed around his legs as well as pass plays for his arm. I mean no disrespect, Lamar is an awesome talent but it's more that Wilson does it solo without scripted blocking and mostly as a last resort when he can't find an open receiver. Whether in the backfield or the open field he rarely seems to get hit even when tackled, and it's all ad lib. The luck comes from avoiding the injuries that come from running around on the same field with 21 other guys or simply catching a cleat wrong.
Two really good QB's playing at a high level, one with his career in front of him and the other with years of experience, I seriously doubt either franchise would want anyone else. Anytime they're not playing us I'll want to see them shine but if they are then "Get the fuckers!".

Bill Belichick’s love and admiration for the Navy Midshipmen was fully activated on Thursday as the Patriots lended them one of their team planes. Navy finished its season ranked No. 23 and will play Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl on New Years Eve.

It’s a cool place. I’m about 30 minutes from there. Annapolis is a nice little town.

Where Do the 49ers Stand in the Power Rankings Heading into the Playoffs?
    Matthew Asher
    Digital Media Coordinator

The San Francisco 49ers have claimed the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs after finishing the season with a 13-3 record. The 49ers will have a bye week before the team hosts the lowest remaining seed in the NFC on Jan. 11, 2020 at Levi's® Stadium.

As the team rests and prepares for a playoff run, here's where members of the media have placed the 49ers in the final power rankings of the season and a look at their initial placements from Week 1 of 2019.

    NFL Nation Staff, ESPN.com: 2 (Last Week: 3, Week 1: 24)

“The 49ers had some success in the early part of the decade, even winning an NFC championship in 2012, which also could be the winner here. But when Jed York hired Shanahan and Lynch in tandem, he finally paired a coach and general manager capable of working together and building something sustainable. It took a couple of years, but the Niners are reaping the rewards now, claiming the No. 1 seed in the NFC and looking like a team loaded with enough young talent and organizational synergy to be a contender for the foreseeable future.”

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: 2 (Last Week: 2, Week 1: 15)

“The 49ers defense keeps fighting through key injuries to make stops, so they will welcome the first-round bye to heal. Their offense has become so dangerous because of its diverse personnel and play-calling, and there are bound to be many more wrinkles in the playoffs in what could be Kyle Shanahan's redemption song.”

Frank Schwab, Yahoo Sports: 2 (Last Week: 2, Week 1: 20)

“The 49ers have played many games that have come right down to the final seconds, and none was more stressful than that Week 17 thriller at Seattle. Now that they have the No. 1 seed secured, this is the obvious favorite in the NFC.”

    Dan Hanzus, NFL.com: 3 (Last Week: 3, Week 1: 24)

“If the 49ers end up hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in five weeks, remember the tackle rookie linebacker Dre Greenlaw made in the regular-season finale against the Seahawks. Greenlaw de-cleated Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister at the goal line, denying Seattle the go-ahead score in the final seconds and ensuring the 49ers would enter January as the NFC West champions with home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs. The Niners are a better team than the Seahawks, and they showed it for most of Sunday night's epic season-closing showdown. But had Russell Wilson worked his magic and stolen the game? Who knows if the Niners recover? If they did, it would've been on the road this weekend in Philadelphia. Instead, it's a bye week, a home game (or two) and the inside track on a Super Bowl return. Yup, remember that name. Dre Greenlaw.”

Lindsay Jones, The Athletic: 3 (Last Week: 4, Week 1: 19)

“Give us a minute, we’re just over here patting ourselves on the back for making the 49ers the biggest riser in our preseason rankings (from No. 30 at the end of 2018 to No. 19 in July). But clearly we underestimated just how high the Niners would soar this year. They peaked at No. 1 in our rankings in Week 8, but the most important ranking for San Francisco now is that they’re the No. 1 seed in the NFC.”

NFL Staff, Bleacher Report: 3 (Last Week 3, Week 1: 17)

“Two things can be said about the San Francisco 49ers after a 13-win regular season. The first is that after they downed the Seahawks in Seattle during the final game of the 2019 regular season, the Niners are the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. The road to Miami travels through Levi's® Stadium. The second is that as they head into the postseason, the 49ers are battle-tested. They played the Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints on the road during the second half of the year, winning two of three. The Seahawks and Green Bay Packers visited Santa Clara in 2019, and only the former notched a win. In other words, the NFC's heavyweights have already been introduced.

"It's hard not to view the Niners as the favorites in the NFC after they locked up home-field. The 49ers are stacked with talent on both sides of the ball and have shown they're a tough out at the Field of Jeans. With an extra week to get players like edge rusher Dee Ford healthy, the Niners are well-positioned to represent the conference in Miami."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: 4 (Last Week: 6, Week 1: 23)

“They held on for dear life in Seattle to win the division. But if the offense plays like it did in that game, they can easily win it all.”

    9ers.

All the rest of your Teams suck. Well, except maybe the Ravens. If SF makes it to the big Game it will be a difficult re-match.

From what I see most analysts must not watch or actually analize much football expressing broad opinions based solely on a few clips and leave out in depth analysis. Most are just talking heads that spew a few colorful phrases spending more thought on how they'll rip their cohosts than on relevant content. Clips rule over context.

Stats don't lie but they don't tell the whole story.

Turnovers count but where they happen on the field counts too.

Every team has to deal with injuries but not all injuries are equal.

The refs will always get something wrong and provide an excuse for the losers. And when they don't "analysts" will invent a bad call to create a controversy.

This is a pretty good breakdown of each team, and their chances.

At the beginning of this crazy season, I put them at .500 at best. Shows you what I know. I just wish they would move past the last second wins. The last four games have had me clutching my chest. These were games they would have lost in the past. J.G. has proven to be a clutch player, Kittle and Samuel have sticky hands, and the beat up D still makes just enough big plays. Lynch and Shanny Jr. are a winning combo. Even if they don't win it all, the future looks better than it has been for us suffering Niner fans.

I like the fact that they were never out of any game all year long. I still hate prevent defense even when it works. It would be great to get Ford, Tart, and Alexander all back and not lose anyone else instead.

Doesn't look good for Alexandra. Ford and Tart are possibilities, but from what I've read, Alexandra is a big long shot to return.

True lol. I’m not much of an nfl fan. I pull for the Jaguars because of fournette but I couldn’t care less honestly. I just follow players and play fantasy.
